After Trek Season 2

I liked it, and thought Matt Mira was pretty fun in a "cheeky wholesomeness" sort of way. I would like to see more fan discussions, as many of the professional guests didn't seem to be as fast on the draw when it came to comments and Trekkie questions, which is okay, but you know, fill us in with people who do have theories, ideas, silly conspiracies. That's part of the fun of discussing a TV series, at least for me.

The host and the two producers (who were later fired for abusing the writing staff) were enough to put me off it. That and the fact Season 1 of Discovery was terrible apart from a few episodes. It hardly needed dissecting on a weekly basis. Besides, we've got Trek BBS for that and we're not expected to fawn over everything no matter how bad it is* unlike on After Trek where they can't really give their honest opinions if they think something stinks.

* Not expected by the admin of the forum but some of the members would probably enjoy it if we did:nyah:

I could never make it through a whole episode. Matt Mira is a huge Star Trek fan, but just not a good host. They could find some kind of other monthly recap show to do in the future.

Wasn't Meghan Fox supposed to be doing some kind of Trek talk show?
She'll be the Borg Queen's daughter on the new Star Trek: Chateau Picard, alongside returning alumni Alice Krige with Susanna Thompson appearing as the Borg Moira Queen. She wants to assimilate the last independent wineries on earth to serve the Gallo Empire. You can trust me. It's on my youtube channel or something.

There. I just made a new rumor.

I wish they’d just do behind-the-scenes stuff. I’d be way more interested in 20 minutes on the design of the Enterprise command chair than 30 of non-stop gushing.

Yeah, that's the best option. None of this Live Chat Talk Show craziness, just do what they did with Doctor Who back in the day. Make a BTS special per episode. Discuss the latest ship/alien/plot of that episode, on-set in Vancouver with the director/producer/actor in an interesting way. Provide a little tease for next week's episode. Release it for free on CBS.com to promote the show.

Do this for every future production.

Does that mean they won't wait so long to upload the episodes? Since there isn't an after show they're trying to force people to watch? They act like Discovery is still on broadcast television with this 8:30 at night bullshit. Plenty of other stream only shows are up at midnight day of.

It is released the earliest it's allowed to be released. The show (by Canadian law) needs to air in a primetime slot in Canada first, so Thursdays 8pm (Eastern) is the Canadian timeslot, and the earliest it can go online in the US is 30 minutes later at 8.30pm (Eastern). Netflix then does a global drop for everywhere else at midnight Mexico Pacific time.

I miss them, too. Even if there were a few cringeworthy moments, it was always fun for me watching After Trek between the episodes.
