News Next Arrowverse Crossover to Include Batwoman

I was wondering if they might introduce Earth 1 Maggie Sawyer since she was one of her main love interests in the comics, but Renee Montoya would be a good possibility too.
Maggie was the New 52 one. It was Montoya before that.

This article speculates that one of them is Montoya, but I think that description sounds more like Sophie Moore, Kate's girlfriend at West Point.
OK, thanks. I don't remember seeing that before. So it definitely sounds like the characters I was expecting are there. I was a little surprised to see them looking for non-white actresses for maybe-Bette, but I guess there really isn't any reason why cousins couldn't be different races.
Luke Fox is an unexpected addition. I didn't realize he was a created at the beginning of the New 52, I thought he had been around longer than that.

In the artwork I've seen they're fraternal, not identical. Everybody assumes all twins are identical, but that's not always the case, remeber Luke and Leia are twins and they weren't both played by Mark Hamill.... Oh, god now I just got a mental picture of Mark Hamill in the white dress and cinnamon buns...... and the metal bikin.:censored::crazy::scream:

Nice touch with the background music having Barry and Oliver maintain their signature melodies but playing them in the style of each other's show.

Also Oliver pulling his speedsuit out of his butt as he's running up to Ivo Laboratories was priceless.

I know there are different types but I assume they were identical. Make it more interesting that way.
Also, it’s rather hard to have identical twins who are different genders. :)

Sorry, that's just one of my pet peeves, everybody hears the word twins and automatically assumes they must be identical. I actually knew a pair of boy and girl twins and they said one time that people had actually asked if they were identical.:brickwall:
I also did have a pair of identical twins as two of my three roommates one semester at college, and I never did find a way to tell them apart.

I knew a pair who would switch each other classes in middle school to mess with the teachers.

So tonight’s episode

I wonder if Barry-90 was implying John was a Green Lantern on Earth-90.

Arrow - "Elseworlds, Part 2"

Barry/Flash: Batman's an urban legend created by the GCPD to scare criminals? No matter how stealthy Batman was/is, someone must have witnessed him, or captured him on camera to prove his existence.

Oliver/Arrow: I could not stop laughing at how the Flash costume fit his like a bad cosplayer....

Kara/SG: "it seems strange that Bruce Wayne and Batman disappeared at the same time..." It had to be said. Now, when will someone finally say, "hey--that Kara looks just like Supergirl!"

"Unless she has some Kryptonite stored somewhere, I'm not worried" Tease! For anyone not familiar with the reference, in several comics and animated stories, Batman always kept a supply of Kryptonite to use against Superman in the event he ever became a problem.

Kane / Batwoman: Appropriately grim and dismissive with the visitors (the "Get out" about the Batmobile ride question), but the "World's Finest" bit was pushing it too soon. It would be interesting to see her backstory--going as far as TV DC can without showing Batman's direct involvement.

Clark/SM: In the teaser, he seemed to a bit whiny...like "this is MYY world!" I hope that wss just one scene.

The Monitor & John Deegan: Lamonica Garret's still channeling Thanos.

90's Flash: Of course, having another Flash racing through dimensions, warning others of impending doom was taken from the legendary Crisis on Infinite Earths maxi-series. Having the older Flash be that messenger was fairly exciting. It makes one wonder if any other former superhero actors will show up to reprise their roles in any of the series.

NOTES: Notice how nighttime Gotham is not lit or designed in the monochrome motifs of other adaptations. The colorful lighting throughout the city was a nice contrast denoting this was a very different Gotham than the one expected in a Batman adaptation. In fact, the most gritty, traditional Gotham look was inside the lobby of Wayne's building.

Nods and/or Easter Eggs:
  • 1966 Batman TV series' bust of Shakespeare. Cool enough, but it would have been wild if Kara fumbled it, opening the head's hidden switch.
  • Cobblepot...Nigma, and other familiar names on asylum doors.
  • Bane's mask and Mr. Freeze's gun.
John Barrowman still cannot act his way out of a paper bag.

GRADE: B+

Interesting hour, pretty much made by Batwoman; I wanted to see more of her doing just about anything. That's the mark of a good adaptation. Further, the chemistry between Kara, Barry and Oliver was flowing as well as most superhero team-ups (finally hitting their stride after so many years), and to be honest, despite not having much meat to the story so far (which makes the idea of the third and final part being overloaded a bit concerning), Elseworlds towers over the last CW/DC crossover.

Based on the promo, I think part 3 might be the best part. Looks like we are getting an Injustice story:

I'm very impressed with Ruby Rose as Kate/Batwoman. She's a strong, compelling presence, striking in both identities. I definitely want to see that Batwoman series now. I wonder if they'll stick with filming in Chicago, though. It certainly did give the Gotham scenes a different look and feel.

My favorite Easter egg in Gotham was a very familiar bust of Shakespeare in Kate's office.

Earth-90 Diggle is John Stewart! Between that, Flash-90, and explicit confirmation that Superman's vigilante "frenemy" on Earth-38 is Batman, this episode confirmed all sorts of fan-favorite theories.

I love it that Flash-90 was the cause of the red skies. As soon as they said the lightning had a breach signature and someone was trying to get through, I knew it had to be him. It's impressive that his powers have advanced enough in 28 years that he's almost able to make his own breaches. Now I really wish there were a way I could see more of how Earth-90 has developed since 1991, with the Flash becoming part of a larger superhero community.

The part that didn't quite work for me was the Scarecrow fear gas making Barry and Oliver hallucinate each other's fears. How is that supposed to work? It acts on the mind, and their minds are still their own. I get that the intent was to give them insight into each other's darkest fears, but it doesn't make a lot of sense. Also, it's hard to buy that Barry without superpowers could handle getting beaten up by Oliver with superspeed. Plus, why was Killer Frost incapacitated by Mr. Freeze's cold gun? It should've strengthened her.
