Things that frustrate us all

I doubt we have minors hanging out here. And the kids nowadays are hard to shock. They rather shock me! ;)

Sorry for preaching such a techno-sermon. Power of habit, I'm afraid. My dad is a computer pioneer and I grew up with that stuff.
I think if you move the folders to your harddrive and replace them with links on the desktop, your machine might already gain a lot of speed. And it takes only a few minutes to do so. You can always do the rest when you feel like it. No need to do all at once. And if you need help, I'll guide you through it all, step by step.

Btw, if you want to keep the important folders in sight in the explorer, head the folder name with a number, with the most important one getting the lowest number. This way they will always show up in the order of importance and you needn't search for them. Works with documents, too, and saves me a lot of work (I am extremely lazy and can't be bothered to waste time on searching :D)

It amazes me how offended people get about people getting offended by things.

Most recent example, there's this character in Super Smash Bros I've never heard of, "Mr Game" or something. He was in some game in 1980 and he's just a black silhouette. Nobody would remember this character if he weren't in the game. In one of his attacks, the silhouette becomes the silhouette of a Native American stereotype, with a spear and feather on his head.

Nintendo decided to remove this feather. Just common sense business move to prevent creating anger and controversy around your video game for something that some people might be bothered by, right?

Nope, every comment section for this news story is bombarded by hundreds of people completely up in arms about PC censorship. Calling people snowflakes and all the usual things, making grand claims about fascism and Orwellianism and thinking it's outrageous for anyone to be bothered by anything.

What the hell is wrong with people? You can argue all day about whether or not people should be offended by a feather, and perhaps that some people overreact and get overly pushy when people get offended by things. But these people are ten times more offended by people getting offended than the actual offended people. What could possibly make people so angry about something so silly and stupid? If Nintendo never added this feather in to begin with you wouldn't have noticed it and if the character was silently removed you wouldn't have cared the slightest bit! Is it all brainwashing of news outlets trying to make people feel PC culture is somehow an aggressive symptoms of special interest groups stealing something from them? Why do so many people turn into such rabidly obnoxious assholes whenever any company does anything to reduce the risk of angering someone with a stereotype?

Every time I go in to Visual Studio, Azure as it’s called now. it looks radically different.

Microsoft, leave it alone!

I’m sick today. Stuffy with a sore throat. This sucks. I never get sick. I can usually “will” the cold away.

:wah:

Believe it or not my best friend's husband can "will away" cold sores. I kid you not; never seen anything like it.

Secondly (and more importantly), I hope you feel better!
Thank you!

Wow haha. That’s incredible! The mind can do amazing things.

Usually I’m not sick for more than a day. I just had some tea with honey and that helped a bit. I just hate feeling like I can’t get anything done. :(

I hear you. Can't stand being sick... usually if it's just a cold (I hardly ever get them either) I take the opportunity to squander my time in the most irresponsible way possible. ;)

I am a big fan of wine, but only quality wine, that I drink on occasions only and in small quantities. It's frustrating when people you like make you drink their own wine and it's so bad that it makes you want to grimace, but since they are friends you pretend to like it, hoping they won't offer another glass...

Wine is great. It’s not only a delicious drink and a versatile base for cooking. It’s also a blanket you can wrap yourself up inside, much like nexus joy. It takes the charred remnants of the daily drudge and softens the edges, and it leaves with you an ambivalent indifference you can sleep through.

Wine rules,

I only drink wine when I'm out to dinner with my dad. I'll drink whatever he orders.

Most other times I prefer gin or beer. (Gin and tonics have helped me through MANY a long airport layover. :ouch: )

When you think you've bought a bottle of shampoo and it turns out it's only a conditioner but only realize it when you're in the shower!!! Because the damn bottles are so similar!!!

Sorry to hear that. I hope you're feeling better soon.

Wait, what?

Can you, uh, teach me that?!?

My ipod is acting up. :( The headphone jack has been on the fritz for awhile now and is now occasionally making it pause randomly. So now onto not using it at this time. Going to check a local computer place that does ipod repair to see what they charge and what not just to get an idea.

Have to wait on repairs at this time though. Hoping to try to get Sharepod (outside of the free version) when I can though so I can finish backing up my ipod in case they have to do a full reset of it.
