They really tear me up on the ground. Not only will they flank me there, too, but they are spawning everywhere on that one planet where most of those missions are. It's a pain in the neck.

^^Yeap, i forgot about ground combat, which has always been jangly at best on STO, but yeah they have up'ed the damage across the board on this game, no doubt because the game has leveled players up so high that the game keeps having to to move the goal posts, i was in a random pug and they took out the main gate in just under a minute of the game starting before they took out the small ones. lol

Starting with Delta Rising, all NPC groups have some unique ability which you will need to counter. Here are just a few examples.

For the Vaadwaur, its their long range artillery - once targeted, you only have a few seconds to get out of dodge before extremely heavy damage hits your ship. The counter is simply to keep your ship moving at top speed.

Voth captial ships have an invulnerability shield that reflects damage back at you. It's similar to Feedback Pulse's effect, except the invulnerability applies to only one shield facing. The counter is simple too, stop firing when you see that banded golden shield come up.

The Kazon has the ability to sub-nuc your ships, doubling the time you can re-use your abilities. Either cleanse the effect or be conservative with when you use your bridge officer abilities.

The Tzenkethi have specialist ships that apply healing and shielding to surrounding ships. The closer their ships are, the stronger the effect. So don't gravity well their ships together, and be sure to target those shielding and healing ships first. Also, Tzenkethi have weak forward shields so the best way to attack them is head on.

Have you seen what ship upgrades are going for on the exchange, 11,000,000 each at the cheapest, and you can grab a SF Vengence for about 135,000,000 at the cheapest....and i think i have a Hirogen Apex battlecrusier still boxed, that are selling for up to 1 billion.

Which system? On PC the Apex is only 230 Million on the exchange.

This was a few days ago, they are all down to about your price now of 230 million i see, still good though, i think i paid 100 mill for this one some time ago, so a win anyway.

Now i just have to decided, buy 10 keys a time for 1125 zen and sell them at 4 mill a key, or buy 4 tech upgrades a time for 1600 zen and sell for 15 mill a peice, what to do. lol

Well, looks like my paltry 14,000,000 credits are just about worthless these days. They weren't paltry when I first earned them!

I'm thinking those were left over from people trying to trick people when the exchange was bugged and wasn't displaying prices.

The 100 mill spent on the Apex was the max i ever reached up to after about 6 years of playing the game when i bought it, and now between all my 7 charactors i have about say 4 mill in EC, plus that two years hiatus did not help, and i just spend 15000 zen on the Temporal bundle pack, almost all gone in a heartbeat, what i have left in stipend i will use for keys, and try and get enough to grab that Vengeance box from the exchange, but after that it's back to 400 zen a month, so need to wait another two years for anorher bundle. Lol

Oh, the bundle prices are insane. $30 real dollars for a cartoon ship, and even that only as a model since there are only a handful of custom bridges? Insanity.

You are not joking, the game is a money sink, but when i bought the LTS the game was still a monthly sub and a whole different funding model, that sub was supposed to get you access to expansions and new ships and all that, never in a thousand years would i have imagined it was going down this pay gambling lootbox type model, nothing drags you out of this game more than a square shiny gambling lootbox floating in space. Lol

Exactly. At first, loot boxes didn't bother me, but they have become so ubiquitous that you can't ignore them, because they make up the bulk of game rewards anymore. Who needs a Type XIV phaser array when you can have a shiny box that costs real money to open?

I've never really had lots of EC to buy those reward ships from the exchange. Never would I waste money on special reward ships. This year, I've only spend $40 (US), and for that I've got the Jem'Hadar starter pack, the Age of Discovery pack and also the Yamato Dreadnought (and later fleet upgrade).

I've found I can lots of Zen from dilithium, which has helped me get what I want and has crafting also. Unsure if I'll spend anymore on the game all depends, if I want something and at the time can afford it. Right now, I'm seating on an Epic Emitter-Linked Phaser Beam Array XV, that I hope to sell and that will keep me going with what I want into the future.

They don't replace any loot, they drop along side as a separate item.

I'm not sure I can agree with that. The last time I played, I saw mostly loot boxes, and I mean everywhere. Once in a while I would get a piece of equipment, but for the most part it was box after box after box, and I think they've been increasing in number since they were first introduced.

They have a higher spawn rate then loot, but they don't replace any loot drops. Boxes will spawn along side normal loot.

    Actually (assuming a 500 Zen a month LT stipend) it's 40 months or 3 years and 4 months. ;)
