Things that frustrate us all

When they say "It's always in the last place you look", it's not just a piece of rhetoric. Sometimes I find items after having searched the entire house in a place I am certain I looked once, or more! It's like the object camouflaged itself to make me search some more!

Rail engineering works, at 1am, with their tapping and their banging and their clanking and their constant droning equipment, for two hours, on the track outside.

The line has about three trains a day, and only occasionally are there passengers. No need to keep me up all night.

Murphy had something special in store for me today: I was out sampling and when starting the trip back I heard that the highway was closed due to an accident. So I took a different route which promptly was jammed. I took a detour from the detour and landed in another traffic jam. Instead of 30 mins the way back took 2 hours.
I love Bavaria's roads...:ack:

When the little piece of metal supposed to facilitate the opening of a can of soda, breaks, and you're in the middle of nowhere with a full can of soda in your hand and a thirst that just won't quit.

When you make something worse. Tried to fix an ornament (a flower in a pot). A petal had fallen off so it just required that one petal to be set in place - except the glue didn't work to make it stick but stuck to my fingers enough that when I touched another petal it came off as well. So I had to peel off all the petals and made a new template, like a whole new flower head. When I went to put that on the stem, the stem broke off. So I tried to stick the stem back with its new but kind of ugly flower head in the pot with white blu tack. Had to bin it in the end.

I've had things like that happen. So annoying.

When you have work you need to get done and you just can't tear yourself away from the Web. Not that you want to be on the Web, it's just that you don't want to do what you're supposed to be doing right now.

Ugh.

I have a bunch of woodchips to vacuum up in my basement and a cat scratcher to build and install.

All of this could take less than an hour.

It's 7 pm and I've done pretty much nothing all day.

This happened to me recently: Had it with people. Went up to Family Video and got to rent Jurassic World 2, also got some used movies. Made sure to double check them and the check out person had a fit... basically acted put upon, like how dare we check a movie for scratches. They just want people to blindly buy them. Sorry kid, but it's an investment. They don't have to be anywhere near perfect, just playable. We didn't take that long to check them either and they weren't busy at the time, like maybe a minute or two just making sure there weren't any deep scratches or speck like ones that would make the disc skip and that kind of thing.

It's 2 degrees Celsius outside right now. I'm starting to feel the cold inside, so I decide, OK, it's time to turn the furnace on for the first time this season.

So of course... it won't start.:(

I was able to get a service appointment for Tuesday! :)

So tonight I've got that sweet, sweet furnace heat!! :D It's SOOO nice to be warm again! :)

(I know this is probably more appropriate for the "something good" thread, but it would be missing the context there... ;) )
