News Next Arrowverse Crossover to Include Batwoman

Since the crossover is after the winter finales of all shows if they went with elseworlds versions of characters I'd think it more likely we'd see alternate versions of the regular heroes, not the new one. That way they can avoid mentioning any cliffhangers of individual shows, and set up Batwoman's Earth if she's on a separate one.

I don't think that will be the case though, and we'll just see the "real" versions of all characters.

Yes, it is possible this story might be focused on Batwoman with Elseworlds versions of the other characters but given that this crossover takes place in the established shows makes that device questionable as well. That said, the Elseworlds name is basically DCs "What If" series. Really, anything is possible for this crossover at this point. Although I do like the idea that it is meant to foreshadow the eventual Crisis that we know is coming.

I can't really see them not involving the regular characters at all. I'm thinking the Eleseworlds title is just going to be referring to the fact that it involves multiple parallel Earths, rather than the whole thing being a "what if" story.

Yeah, they're not not going to involve the regulars. That would be... strange. What would be the point? It would be similar to that story in Star Trek Enterprise that was all set in the Mirror Universe... while it was interesting, it had zero effect on the characters we know and care about.

I think you're right, the Elseworlds title is being used for the multiple parallel Earths... We might see different versions of our main cast, but, we will be seeing the "real" versions of the characters.

I'm really hoping Batwoman is on one of the main Earths (1 or 38), I understand why Supergirl ended up on her own Earth, but I like it better when we have as many characters as possible sharing a reality. At least they do have Cisco's device for quick jumps between Earths now, so they won't have worry about trying to find a way to bring the characters from the different realities together.

Until the Monitor and "Elseworlds" reveals, it sure looked as though the crossover and Batwoman would take place on Earth-38, given the inclusion of Superman and Lois in the story. I still think that's quite possible. I don't believe they'll go the "imaginary story" route; I suspect the title and the inclusion of the Monitor will mean something else. We just don't know what yet.

Looks like they've started shooting the Flash episode of the crossover, so it's a good thing they released it now before the crappy phone cam shots from the set leaked out.

I've just taken a tour of comments on other sites, and I'm amused that one poster was saying they obviously worked hard to make sure the costume wasn't sexy at all, while another was frothing with outrage over how it highlights her breasts and is grossly exploitative. Perspectives, amirite?

That's probably why the released it.
I love it, it looks great. I especially like the red tint along the bottom of the cape

Stephen Amell shared a bit about the upcoming crossover:

How excited are you to have Green Arrow meeting Superman in this year’s crossover?
"The crossover in general — it sounds to me like what I’ve been hoping for for a while. [For the crossovers] we would get bigger, and bigger, and bigger, but at a certain point, we have to pare it down a little bit and do more of a character-driven story, so we’re really focusing this year on a core five [characters]: Oliver, and Barry, and Supergirl, and Superman, and Batwoman. That’s more exciting for me, because it’s more of a character piece. I’m sure that there will still be oodles of action, but the possibility of Oliver and Clark Kent interacting is … I mean, it’s exciting! What else can I say? I was a fan before I was a part of this whole world, and the chance for those two characters to meet is really great."
