The UK Netflix trailer doesn’t have Lenny Kravitz.
You're not wrong. It was the weakest gag
Food for thought:
Pike's "Hit it" is obviously derivative of "Punch it." But consider this Pike didn't base his entire career on the Narada attack suggesting he might be a bit more even-keeled and prone to less aggressive language.
Why?I would've liked it if he had said "engage", instead.
Why?
Better to draw a connection from a recent popular film than a 50-year-old pilot that never [initially] aired and was cut up into scraps.
That will never happen.doesn't play to the inevitable timeline twist cliffhanger?
Thanks for supplying that. This one isn't region locked:
It was 100% Obvious Spock would show up or be mentioned as at this point in time with the Enterprise he is still canonically part of Pike's crew. Thanks for supplying that.
First reaction listening to Michael's voice. Honestly, f*ck that. Her droning ruins everything. Second reaction is probably not a popular one, but things came to life with Pike. He's going to be another scene-stealer. And the music worked. And I feel a little sad how secondary the Discovery gang come off. Tilly and the stupid maths high five. Geeze she's a prized dick. Saru is the only one that really stood out for the Discovery team with any presence. I've grown to like him.
I see the need for a Spock reference. He and past Trek references are the only reason/s that makes Michael as a character relevant.

Even though it would be silly to do so, since Pike is nearly at the end of his mission at this point.
Didn't he take command in the first season?Still roughly five years before Kirk takes over.
