New Composer. Really new, looking at his sparse credits. http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/doctorwho/entries/6e908208-0ebe-4a2d-bcba-16f3c3a47032
New composer's soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/segunakinola May not have many credits, but I like what I hear. Nice understated strings and percussion use in many pieces, while having an overall ethereal and otherworldly sound. Reminds me a lot of Gold's Tenth Doctor suites, before he got all OTT orchestral. I can see why Chibnall chose him. Mark
I liked the short glimpse of the Doctor. She reminds me a bit of 10 and 11, I think she’s going to be really good.
Isn't that the other way around? His music was a lot more louder/dialogue drowning in the RTD era than under Moffat, due to their individual styles/tastes in how the show works.
That clip is just the concentrated burst of fun I needed to power through a work day. She's going to be fantastic.
I saw the leaked clip. It was pretty good, although it makes me wish she was keeping a real Doctor suit and not switching to dressing like a kids tv host. But, at least dressing like a kids host shows some personality, unlike Capaldi digging clothes out of the back of his closet and then trying to use cosplayers to justify wearing his comfortable weekend clothes to work (which, to be fair, they stopped him from doing in Season 10).
His credits might be sparse but his educational background and what little he has done sounds pretty promising. I'm loving his work based on those samples. He already sounds like a subtler composer than Murray Gold (who did have his moments but not as often as he should have).
The dude in your avatar is dressed like a literal clown, but you're worked up about some capri pants and a jacket? Okidoke.
Yeah, but it's a clown suit and 5 was a doctor, making it a doctor suit! It also was my least favorite costume design of any Doctors.
All of the 80s incarnations sported hideous costumes that are indefensible. Decorative vegetable indeed.
Its my favorite Doctor costume. Its goofy, but its bold and immediately distinctive. It definitely doesn't belong to anyone but the sixth Doctor. The stupid 13th Doctor costume looks like something the Doctor Who producer stole from a BBC produced kids show when no one was looking. Also, yeah, he is in no way a literal clown. Some non canon work dresses him as a literal blueberry, but he's never looked like a clown. He looks like the Sixth Doctor, because he suit is so weird its unmistakable. The 13th Doctor I would never guess was The doctor if you didn't tell me, and no Doctor exceopt maybe the 9th has been that indistinct with their costume (and at least it looked decent, if generic).
So, if you showed a person who only saw all Doctor Who episodes up until "Frontio" and then show that person your avatar, would they be more likely to say "Doctor Who" or "clown"?
