Don't give money to the last Jedi remake projects

Are you guys kidding me here? I thought any reasonable person would be able to realize that the massive success of force awakens was because of the original actors reprising their classic roles and the whole "now this is star wars, not that prequels crap" vibe. Why the heck else do you think that movie was that popular????
It was fun, people liked it, original characters or no. I could have excised a lot of Solo from TFA and still find that film perfecly great.

Also, this does nothing to account for Rogue One and its financial success.

I've literally never heard an American talk about anything other than domestic numbers... I was certainly only talking about American reactions to the movie.
I must hang out in different circles than you. Discussing BO always involves domestic and international.

I'm a millennial and so are all my friends. Everyone I know saw both sequel films and plans to see the third.
And that's why I qualified my blanket statement with "in my experience". That experience can be entirely not indicative of anyone else's.

Just yesterday, I introduced a buddy to TLJ. He absolutely loved it. Had a ton of fun with it. More than anything, watching his enjoyment out of it reminded me that sometimes we take shit like this way too seriously.

Boom!! That's why I always say, fans ruin fandoms. We forget to simply enjoy and discus insane bullshit. I stopped doing that a while ago, and I suddenly started enjoying Star Trek and Star Wars again. I read the stupid bullshit posted here, shake my head, and move on. I'd rather spend my time actually watching the movies and shows I love instead of having meaningless discussions about them.

They blame tlj for what happened to solo...

I trust actual industry insiders who suggest poor marketing was the key factor in Solo’s failure, not TLJ backlash or fan fatigue. Source.

Point by point, the report knocks down some of the suggested cultprits, from production woes to tight release calendar spacing just five months after The Last Jedi, to lingering fan animus toward TLJ, “If the franchise was able to survive Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones, we have a hard time believing Last Jedi could have done that much damage,” Creutz writes.

You don't think it's interesting discussing how the ones you don't could have been better?

Why is this thread here? Is this a PSA? Don't support something? Is this an activist thread really? Advocating one side. I never thought I'd see that in a fan discussion board. Topics yes, but Advocation not to do or support something? I wonder how the people who supported Axanar would feel about this? Those fan's who support Axanar Star Trek would be Hippocrates if they support this activist thread and it's reasonings. So they want to try to fix TLJ..who cares. Let em. Its their money. What would threaten you, the fact that it could be a success? That people who don't have a professional career are doing this? Afraid of some kind of right wing propaganda show horned in? Oh that would have to replace the leftist propaganda shoe horned in, oh no!! Criminal! Ahahahhahaha this thread is a joke. Should be read only by Anita Sarkesian, Scott Mendelson, occcupy Wallstreet, ANTIFA, and the young Turks. Too funny.

Why is this thread here?
Because it appears like this campaign is a scam.

Is this a PSA?
In a way, yes.

Don't support something?
Never support something, you could be associated with a larger group.

Is this an activist thread really?
Nah, I think PSA is pretty accurate.

Advocating one side.
Well, yea, you wouldn't ask the "Nigerian Prince" who send you an email about how he wants to share his wealth with you about his side of the story.

I wonder how the people who supported Axanar would feel about this? Those fan's who support Axanar Star Trek would be Hippocrates if they support this activist thread and it's reasonings.
I really don't care about Axanar at all, but I get a rather anti-Axanar vibe from the BBS in general, so I wouldn't be surprised if no one here was an Axanar supporter.

So they want to try to fix TLJ..who cares. Let em. Its their money.
Pretty much agree with this, I don't really care.

What would threaten you, the fact that it could be a success?
Even if it's not a scam, the chances are... slim.

That people who don't have a professional career are doing this?
Well, PewDiePie has 50 million subscribers on YouTube. The world will survive some people on Twitter who want to make a TLJ remake (if it isn't scam).

Afraid of some kind of right wing propaganda show horned in?
Well, that wouldn't be particularly nice.

Oh that would have to replace the leftist propaganda shoe horned in, oh no!! Criminal!
Can't we just have propaganda from all sides in one movie?!

Ahahahhahaha this thread is a joke.
Eh, I've seen worse.

Exactly. I recommend finding people to introduce to the joy of Star Wars and see that again. I also enjoyed listening to Rebel Force Radio podcast commentaries with Sam Witwer because Sam has such a passion for Star Wars that it really shines through, even with the prequels.

Ironic because Sam (at least I think it was Sam, might have been Kyle Newman) really turned me off to RFR recently because he turned a conversation regarding Solo into a bashing session for TLJ. It was not my favorite moment of that show.

Luke could still show up as a ghost.

If he does, he'd probably phone in his performance as he's already gone on record to say he's emotionally clocked out. Not that he doesn't care about Daisy Ridley or anything but the appeal to him was in getting the band back together and he only had the one scene with Carrie to show for it.
