Wedding Rituals

That's really fantastic! I sprung for a regular two-piece black suit and my wife had her own ideas about her dress. Which cost three times as much as my suit :D

I only knew the collor of her dress, and It took me an hour!! To choose the suit :)
Our dress and suit were not so expensive :)

On my wedding we had about 150 guess, and a live band. My wife wore a beautiful red wedding dress.
A tradition here is where the bride and groom sit on different chairs and friends and family dance with the chairs held up high, and at the end of the song the newlyweds have kiss each other

The top picture showed. You both look wonderful! Very striking colour.

The only memorable wedding I've been to was about 20 years ago.
My friend from high school was getting married and instead of the traditional reception afterwards with music and dancing, they hired a string quartet to play while a magician went around to the tables and performed magic/illusions/slight of hand tricks for the guests.
After dinner, he got up on stage and did a whole performance, complete with an assistant, lighting and various other accoutrements.
Out of all the weddings I've attended, that one has proven to be the most memorable.
That would've been so enjoyable. I'm resisting saying magical.

Same here...I'm now divorced but *I* meant my vows. Him not so much
add me to this list.

Next wedding, I'd like just us, the kids, and our longest lasting friendships. So small there doesn't need to be chairs because it's the wedding party, haha. no drama or heavy clean up. No reception. We eat at a restaurant and then we go. done. No huge dress, building, venue. I feel like it jinx it and feeds people who'd rather not be there.

Yep. My next wedding may not be that far off. I want to just go to the courthouse and then jave a nice dinner with immediate family.

Wow, some of these weddings sound exhausting just reading about them :D

Me and the Mrs just went to a Justice of the peace we found in the phone book who was nearby, invited 2 people who were available, then had lunch.

I've been to simple weddings at a church with the reception in the gym and to 20k+ pageants one, each fit the couple and were nice.

For everyone happily married, how long did you know your spouse before you decided to get married?

My last relationship lasted 9 years, starting from when I was about 26, and I thought I'd eventually marry him. We lived together for like more than 7 years, and looking back I feel I was ignoring so many things and just trying to follow steps or something, and things really degenerated. I don't feel I was ever really super passionate or anything.

I've been seeing this new man for about two weeks, and I'm feeling madly head over heels, sick to my stomach, and just sort of crazy. I'm 35 now and much wiser I think, he just seems so amazing and perfect for me, but I worry if I'm turning into like one of those stereotype crazy women who want to just dive into marriage, lol.
