Yeah, as far as I know there was never any possibility of Discovery being on the CBS TV network. The only reason the shows exists is because they needed something to draw people to CBS All Access. If it wasn't on All Access, then it wouldn't exist at all.I remember when Discovery started, there being an article on CNN Business about the reason that they went with Discovery being streamed was to do with CBS wanting a known name to launch CBS All Access around so it stood a chance against the established streaming services such as Netflix and Amazon Prime. I believe it is seen as the start of a larger move to take all CBS new programming on-line.
^There's a world of difference from something not being your cup of tea and something being objectivity "the worst". ENT may have been deeply flawed on a number of levels and something of a low point for the entire franchise, but putting it in the same category of the truly turgid, hackneyed and painfully cheap, minimum effort crap that used to populate The Science Fiction Channel's post Sunday midnight timeslots way back in the day is hyperbole at best and disingenuous at worst.
Hell, I've even seen some people claim to actually enjoy the likes of 'War of the Worlds', 'Highlander' and 'Space, Above and Beyond', so maybe even they have some merit (even if it utterly escapes me!)
Your gonna disagree with Trek God!!!

M.A.N.T.I.S. at least had a final episode and could be revived.
What about Time Trax? I remember loving it as a kid, but it was probably awful.

SeaQuest also had what I call the "Babylon 5 Problem", where they were using computer graphics at a time where it still had some room for improvement, making it hard for the shows to gain traction. Sliders had similar issues. (Sliders is another example of a show that started relatively strong, but went of the rails after a season or two.)
I actually think that Sliders would be a great show to reboot on something like Netflix. I think that we've only recently reached the point where special effects can to the show's premise justice. Imagine Sliders with the same level of acting, set design and special effects as the recent reboot of Lost in Space. While I would like to see something similar happen to SeaQuest, I don't think it has the range of possibilities that Sliders does. I'd probably ditch the Kromaggs, though.
There was absolutely no way a show made from made in 2001-5 was going to stay true to a show made back in the 1960s, and to expect it to is ridiculous. I think pretty much every prequel, especially one made so long after the original, has retconned the shit out of the original.

Even the Star Wars prequels--while updating certain things like monitor graphics, etc.--still looked like it would lead to the OT
The PT did not look like some entirely different production having nothing to do with its creative source. That cannot be said of ENT, which utterly flushed TOS--save for that two-parter--while jumping off a number of revisionist cliffs to the point where the criticism and failure it received were deserved.
Criticism for ENT was far from universal, on the contrary this board is absolutely full of ENT fans. Don't conflate you own opinion with an absolute statement of the publics.
Please avoid creating some alleged positive opinion of ENT based on posts (which are not universal in support) from a single message board. The audience made their feelings known with the ratings drop, hence it being the one and only Berman-era ST series to fail to run 7 seasons. The series generated a number of serious problems leading to that mass fan exodus from ENT, with the revisionism issues being one of the major triggers.
Never heard of Woops, so I'll make no comment on it. As to Salvage 1, it was intended to be tongue-in-cheek, and I rather liked it. It had a lot of heart to it.Woops (1992, Fox)
