Spoilers DC's Legends of Tomorrow - Season 3

Not going to deny it Marie Richardson-Sellers is much more natural and effective when allowed to use her real life British accent. Huge improvement!

I don't know if the Cockney she adopted there is quite her natural accent. When I've heard her speak in behind-the-scenes videos, she uses more of an upper-class accent, I think. But yeah, either way, I prefer her with an English accent.

Well, this was a wild one with a ton of stuff happening in parallel. I never would've expected that Rip's reason for recruiting Wally was so that he could become a pickpocket. As for Ray, his guilt about almost killing Nora was understandable, but he shouldn't have gone back to help her without backup.

Nice that they used a lot of details from Vixen, like the shattered Fire Totem being on display in the Detroit Museum (although Adam Macalester being Mari's boyfriend, rather than just an acquaintance with information she needs, is a new development). Too bad they couldn't actually show any of the action in Detroit, though.

I like goofy zen drunk Wally West and personally I think Rip rocks the trench at least as well as Constantine and Blackbeard was fun. The bit with Ray and the nanite gun (Ray gun?) seemed rather hastily squeezed in though.

He probably didn't want to endanger anyone else. And his plan would have worked, he followed the first two steps of "get amulet", "inject cure", but forgot the crucial last step of "run, Ray, run!" and that was his undoing... that's a vintage Ray mistake right there.

So the Waverider can withstand a nuke, but not a few cannonballs? Arrgh, they truly be the Bermuda Devil's cannonballs! ;)

I've always liked the Mick/Amaya friendship in S2, so 'twas great to see their team-up episode here, as was the Avalance romance, and the Rip/Wally bromance.

Anyone else have a sneaking suspicion that Gary will somehow save everybody in the finale? :D

Presumably the "Triangle"'s effects were disrupting the ship's shields as well as its cloak and other systems.

Oh, that would be priceless. The poor guy deserves a win, doesn't he?

Even without any shields at all, I would think cannon balls would do very little damage to the Waverider because of the ship's strong hull material.

Cowardly Blackbeard, and the dread pirate Jiwe were pretty good, and Wall and Rip were a lot of fun.
The Sarah/Ava stuff was good too.
Ray getting caught while trying to help Nora was a nice cliffhanger. For a moment there I thought the Darhks might actually let him go unharmed.

I think Damien would have been fine letting Ray go with the amulet. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if Damien let Ray escape or even switched sides once he realizes how much control Mallus has over his daughter.

Yeah, I saw that theory in the story about Jax return too. It would be a good way to get him powers by himself.

Gary and Todd from The Magicians would make a good pair.

(Catching up with "Here I Go Again"...)

One of the best episodes of the series.
Agreed, I'd put it right up there with "Phone Home" as the finest the series (and indeed the whole Arrowverse) has to offer. :bolian:

Also: apparently Gideon can download skills into brains, a la The Matrix! I wonder how long Zari's consciousness lived in the simulation. Remember how Ray spent two years with Kendra in the 50s? It'd be cool to see a chart of how long each member has lived after joining the team...

I'd love it if they could have Gideon be an android on the ship. That way the actress could become a regular on the cast instead of just a voice. She is gorgeous and I would love to see her more on the show.
Well, the show hardly has a dearth of beautiful women, does it.

In a brief time Zari seems far more interesting a character than Amaya. I can not not imagine them changing out the two characters in that episode and it working at all. Marie Richardson-Sellers is beautiful but has very limited emotional range as an actress.
Amaya's character is to be stoic and wise before her years, which inherently limits the notes Richardson-Sellers can play. I'm not sure it's fair to judge the actress based on this one role, though I agree Tala Ashe was excellent in this ep.

It wasn't a download in that sense. Indeed, it was an upload. Zari's mind was uploaded into Gideon's matrix, which allowed her to think at a much faster speed than normal, which gave her the time to learn the violin during the "fun montage." So Gideon didn't put that information in her brain; Zari acquired it through her own hard work and practice in the accelerated timeframe of the simulation, and retained it when her accumulated memories were downloaded back into her brain.

Buuuuttttt... Gideon could replay that learning experience inside a copy of anyone elses brain, in her sandbox, and then squirt that revised version of that person back into their heads, and they will remember what Gideon frames them to remember, that it was their idea to learn the violin.

Meanwhile, the dumbing-down of Ray Palmer continues: not only does Gideon's simulation think he doesn't know how to disarm a bomb, simulated-Ray doesn't even think to shrink it down to inconsequential size, and Sara doesn't bother ordering him to help Zari fix the ship. It's not as though the guy's built a billion-dollar tech firm off his own brains or anything, right? :p

You know, I just realized something... The current storyline involves the heroes and villains competing to acquire six metal or stone totems with various powers, which, when combined, will enable them to achieve their ultimate goals. So they're kind of doing Infinity Gauntlet, aren't they? They even had Mallus use the phrase "one of the six," which is how Adam Warlock's Soul Gem described itself in the storyline that first established the existence of six Infinity Gems.

Well, you know what they say: Imitation is the sincerest for- OH GOD, WHAT IS MARVEL STUDIOS DOING, LET'S DO THAT, AND RUN AS FAR FROM THE DCEU AS METAHUMANLY POSSIB-

:p
