Thor: Ragnarok

I read that before going in. If that was part of her character design (in the script), a director's notion, or her own addition to the material, it really doesn't show in the slightest.

She's a feisty, fun, engaging (and pretty damned sexy imo) addition to the Thor cast, but if the character is bisexual it has as much resonance and depth on screen as Dumbledore being gay. But then it's a pretty sexless adventure all round really (barring some Thor-skin-time and Thompson/Blanchett's inherent sexiness)

As Thompson says in her tweet, the character's sexuality isn't addressed or even implied, which is not a surprise given Kevin Feige appears to be uninterested in much general diversity of his box-office friendly pantheon.

Hugo -
Yeah, that was the impression I got from the article and its comment section. Pity. I was hoping at least something a little subtle in her interaction with other characters but I trust your judgment on this count.

Still, I'm glad she had her heart in that place while playing the character and maybe she'll be able to expand on it in a future performance.

And curse both of you for being able to see it so soon! I don't want to wait two plus more weeks! :scream:

Apparently Thor loses an eye

This would contradict the Infinity War trailer where Thor has both eyes

I think there's going to be major reshoots going from Infinity War due to Ragnarok's reshoots.

Or they're just good at keeping secrets. It's worth noting that there are shots in the Ragnarok trailer where Thor has both eyes even though the finished shot in the film he has just one.

Saw this last night. Loved every minute of it. So much fun!! And that soundtrack.
EVERYTHING.

A few things though...
Seem all the "homeless Odin" stuff was cut out of the movie.

Also, was Thor's eye injury added last-minute in post-production? Because I don't remember him having an eye patch in the Infinity War trailer that leaked awhile ago.

These trailers look so good. I didn't think I'd be this excited for a Marvel film again.

I too VERY much enjoyed this one...........it is high up on my Marvel list, my ONLY complaint is the 1982ish syth soundtrack..........Loved the Zeppelin just not the syth stuff, but that is just personal preference.

I wanted more of it. I'd have been happy for it to have completely subsumed them standard score. But, yes, just a personal preference.

A few days later and I'm still chuckling over this film. I hope because of it more people seek out Waititi's earlier films.

Hugo - especially Hunt For The Wilderpeople

Well that was hilarious.

So that's the end of the warriors three. Blink and you miss it. Although come to think of it, was Sif there along with Gimli and the posh one?

Nice to see Strange - is it me or did he did seem to get a little concerned when he hastily got rid of Loki. Romanov's appearance was the same as avengers 2 right?

I wonder if Loki took the tesseract, hopefully he did and they didn't just leave it for any random pirate to pick up (while dancing to 80s music), I suspect it will come in useful. I suspect Thor's eye will return too - although perhaps he could join a club with Fury? There was a scene post losing it where I'm sure I could see Thor's eye.

When did Jane dump him? Were they in a mutual dumpage situation in avengers 2? Thor's not been back since then has he?

How old is Thor - if sis had been sent off before Thor was born, how long had Valkyrie been on that planet? On one hand they were at pains to say how time worked differently and Loki had been there for a few weeks, but they were quite adamant that Thor had been there for 2 years.

Saw it on Friday night, yep certainly a lot of fun and plenty of laughs. Korg most definitely stole the show for me

One negative I'm gonna mention though is... kinda felt like it could have been called "Green Screen: The Movie." I know nearly all films like this obviously use green screen, but a lot of the time you don't notice, or can only tell a little bit. A lot of the time though it felt like the effects weren't 100% done, and was really obvious they were all just stood on a sound stage numerous, numerous times. Notably in the arena Thor/Hulk fight when Thor enters and the crowd is around him. That looked almost Babylon 5 esque.

(I like B5, but just saying!)

I thought the effects were fine, but I'll happily admit I wasn't paying as much attention as I could due to the fun and giggles I was having.

Hugo - like smouldering twig

The "Odin cliffs" looked pretty dodgy, but I assume that's because they changed the setting of that scene late in the game?

I was a little bit disappointed by their death scènes. Lady Sif wasn't in the movie otherwise she would have kicked Hela's ass

This isn't a marked spoiler thread, so it'd be cooler of you to spoiler code that post.

Just a heads-up, the quoted part is still visible from another poster's spoiler-protected post. :)

Although being in a thread about a movie that has been released is kinda on you if you have not seen it yet.................just sayin. What are the official guidelines? How long do you spoiler stuff?
