well, just saw a pop up ad reminding me it's coming back July 16. So either I am just not watching FX enough , or I totally missed the ads for the show coming back.

Personally, not super excited. Will this season wrap things up?

Well, I think it has to.. I believe they announced this is the final season...

I haven't looked into the set up too much.. I wonder if we'll have a time jump or if it will take place immediately following the blast. I have never made it through the 3rd book, so I'm not sure where they are, continuity-wise... Honestly, I don't remember much about the 2nd book either.. It's been a long time...

I watched the first episode, and it's pretty unclear what's going on with Setrakian. The stupid kid seems to be having the time of his life after just killing millions of people. Yeah, he needs to go.

The thing that is eating (pun intended) at me is this nuclear winter. Really? THIS is nuclear winter?

How many missiles were fired? If this had been a mass exchange, there wouldn't be anything left of any cities, and I am pretty sure from all I have read that nuclear winter would be a lot worse than what we are seeing. If just "some" missiles, would we get nuclear winter? And what has happened to armies and national governments? What, ALL gone?

Well there are only 4 so far so you might as well jump. It's pretty good. Gus is getting very interesting, and the Quinlan/Fett dynamic is a lot of fun (and Quinlan manages to be a little droll all by himself sometimes; ya gotta love his bored cynicism and supercillious pragmatism). Sort of like a comedy duo, Quinlan is the straight man. Lends some joy to pretty grim proceedings. Dutch is boring me but her story is important to the main plot I would say. F is mmm, meh I'd say so far but not as meh as Dutch. Not much of Setrakian. Good deal of Eichorst, Master, and Enfant Terrible, made bearable and interesting mainly by Eichorst. Master-Palmer is just sorta there thus far, nothng big (to us) revealed yet.

Eichorst is an interesting villain. Former Nazi turned Strigoi. He is sophisticated and well read.
A high functioning sociopath.

Can anyone explain to me what happened to Eichorst after Dutch douses him with a Molotov cocktail? (which, somehow, a veteran like Eichorst didn't recognize). He was lying on the ground in flames. Next we saw, he's hunting Fet and Quinlan (then in this latest ep he is killed once and for all, guy is part cat I swear).

And is Setrakian infected now? Or did the warfarin somehow protect him?

That was a legit decent episode right there. I'm not quite sure how Setrakian would survive what he did to himself but that was entertaining. And a lack of Zack is just icing on the cake.
