I think a lot of Christians get bullied when it's not their fault other people have issues. It's up to Christians to offer compassion and to try and help but one can only do so much, the rest is on yourself. What *you* make of yourself.. becoming bitter is redundant.
That's kind of a half-assed way of doing it, don't you think?
"You should be saved! Jesus loves you!"
"What makes Jesus any different than any other mythology throughout human history?"
"Because Jesus loves you!"
"Even if I'm gay?"
"Yes! I mean, he'll want you to change into being not gay, but otherwise he loves you!"
"That doesn't seem right. I can't help being gay."
"Look, guy, just accept Jesus, and you won't be gay anymore."
"Really? That sounds awful. Why would I change a fundamental part of who I am for someone who doesn't even love me unless I change to suit his desires?"
"Because if you don't he's going to send you to hell."
"That sounds horrible! What kind of person does that?"
"Oh, don't worry, all you have to do is be saved!"
"Well, what makes Jesus any different than any other mythology throughout human history?"
"You know what, whatever dude. Enjoy hell."
Good thing the Samaritan chose to actually stop instead of doing as the other religious passers-by, who merely offered half-hearted prayers as they left the traveler to die alone.
