Spoilers Supergirl - Season 2

I think it's BS too. At most it could be very small role to setup another character. Like Lionel Luthor or the actor cast as Superman in the first season. I do not believe for a second they would cast Zod in a major role with some with as limited a filmography as this Mark Gibbon has. HE seems to only play bit parts.

Last Summer one of the producers said they had future plans for Non. That after Supergirl blinded him with her heat vision he would be closer to the mindless Non of the movies. At this point none of the first season villians have been revisited yet other than Live Wire. No General Lane, Max Lord. No Kryptonian suriviors.

It's kind of sad how an uncorroborated report from somewhere like Bleeding Cool can be distributed as if it actually means something and is newsworthy.
Wasn't it that same site that last summer reported a long list of season 2 news that all turned out not to be true? They claimed Batgirl, Batwoman, and Oracle would all be appearing on the show!

Just because those characters haven't yet resurfaced doesn't mean they WON'T at some point.

I think that report came from The Wrap, but that's beside the point. BS clickbait is still BS clickbait, and that's all this whole Zod thing is until it's corroborated by sites with actual credibility.

He seems to have done a lot of voice acting - Perhaps he's a stand-in/voice for a cameo, the cliffhanger moment like the pod from season one?

Imagine the final shot being of someone from behind, Supergirl and Superman turn and look at the figure - and all we hear is 'Kneel before Zod ...'

The wife and I realized, while wondering when new episodes would be back, that we really didn't care any more. We mostly didn't mind the first seasons silliness, since we liked the characters, and Melissa is so engaging to watch. But the show has run gleefully over the line from amiably silly to just plain stupid.

They should have mostly wrapped shooting for the season by now, so I doubt that Zod will be much more than a tiny cameo.

[snippage] But the show has run gleefully over the line from amiably silly to just plain stupid.

Bingo! That's exactly how I feel about the show. When it moved to the CW, it was a pain to find and watch, then I had to catch up on the stupid CW App because it isn't carried on the Charter OnDemand service and then .... I really stopped caring... The story lines and just general stupidity didn't justify the time and effort.

Q2

I said I doubted that Zod was being bought into Supergirl, and I was wrong. Both of the sites that I trust for Supergirl-specific news have independently confirmed the casting of Mark Gibbon, so Bleeding Cool got it right... THIS TIME.

Sorry for the double post, but in light of the Zod casting having been confirmed, I think it's prudent to point out that, whatever his backstory ends up being, it's not going to match the comics insofar as his having been imprisoned in the Phantom Zone is concerned unless he's revealed to have been aboard Fort Rozz when it crash-landed on Earth.

Maybe he's the one Fort Rozz inmate who went off to fight Superman instead of laying low for 12 years. Perhaps he'll appear in flashback as one of Superman's old foes. I mean, Superman must've been fighting somebody for all that time other than Lex Luthor and Reactron.

From what we've seen Fort Rozz was filled with eco-terrorists, drug smugglers and bullies, not exactly the really really bad guys.

Maybe Zod was/is in a separate SuperMax version of it...

Those eco-terrorists tried to take over the whole planet Krypton -- and then Earth. Hardly a low-level threat.
