I'm afraid that machine translators tend to take a bit too much poetic license :P

It borrows that "behaviors" are great in a direction away from Earth.
It becomes strong, the name's "example" is great.

 

Shakespeare should be watched, not read.

 

Ugh... the very idea of using a machine translator on Shakespeare makes me recoil.

 

I just saw this on Chapters.c---with the cover art for "The Autobiography of Jean Luc Picard".

 

I gave it a try. It's not exactly Shakespeare (which is, of course, rather unfortunate in this case), and I had to change it to iambic hexameter to make it work, but anyhow:

Sub = "be solid" or "hero" or (consequently) "be heroic (slang)"
So, the idea is that this might also mean something like "tear down the idols of his/her bragging so-called honor".

**The word pup can mean either "kick" or "be perfect", so pupchoH can mean either "start to kick" or "become perfect".

***The word QIv ("be inferior") is phonetically similar to qIv ("knee"), to the point where qIv is used as a slang term for "inferior person" in the 24th century.
This ends up not really factoring into the text, but I thought it worth mentioning, as it was the reason I originally set down the path of leg metaphors to begin with :P

****QaD means "be dry", but also has a slang/metaphorical meaning of "be safe", the literary use of which appears to date back many centuries.

This is great. A little more belligerent version of the English text, but I think that's perfectly fine for a Klingon poet.

 

Are those the listings for the UK? I'm pretty sure IDW were the only ones to publish the Kelvinverse comics in the US, and Pocket published the novelizations here.

Nice. I'd say I actually like that one about as much as the German one.

 

That is so close to the Original cover that you wonder why they bothered to do a new one.

 

Yup - that was my initial thought, that it was the same cover, I had to go and check to see what was different.

 

Yeah, they look identical, the same fonts used, the same angle of the Prometheus and the same view of the space station, it's uncanny.

 

Yeah, since "close" is totally the same as "identical" and because both covers using Prometheus in front of exploding space station on a bluish background isn't close at all I agree wholeheartedly that the new cover is the most original thing I've seen in my whole life. I don't know what i was thinking earlier.

 

No doubt because the American novel format has a narrower aspect ratio (about 3:5 while the German is about 2:3), so the starship image on the original would've been too wide to fit.

 

I asked Titan about it and they said it had some marketing reasons. But the aspect ration thing could be true.
