CBS/Paramount sues to stop Axanar

Not seeing a lot of the blind support after this latest announcement............maybe they are finally seeing the light.

Seems to have been another night of purging for the Axanar Donors Group. Seems like a lot of people finally broke their silence and were summarily dealt with in the usual way. Even some legitimate and polite questions are getting the old "delete and ban" treatment.

Going back to @TREKZONE.org interviewing Indiegogo, its probably not a surprise they bumped the interview at the mention of Axanar. Is there a scenario here that makes them look good? Ok, so crowdfunding seems to turn a blind eye to the whole "owning the copyright" clause of their projects. But Indiegogo are continuing to support projects from a creator who has consistently not delivered on his promises. Who bans people from the FB group that was part of their perks. Who mismanaged the project to the point of getting sued and blowing a seven figure sum. Yet here they are hosting his current campaign, which as far as I'm aware is still running despite the fact the funds will not be going towards the promised studio (so *where* is that money going, other than Alec's pockets?). This is despite numerous people reporting the project for all these reasons and more. As someone else said (here or elsewhere), its telling that Kickstarter seemed to drop the project at the last minute (going by the remaining references to them in the pitch video).

It'll be interesting to see how long the current campaign is allowed to run. The decent thing is of course to close it immediately and refund all of the donations, before launching the inevitable subsequent campaign for Studio v2. How can Indiegogo possibly be ok with it continuing given its a complete bait and switch given the words of its own creator?

Again, if there's one thing I've learned through this whole thing, its how much a degree of regulation really needs to be levelled at crowd funding.

Congratulations on all your hard work on restoring Galileo to her former glory. As others have said, you and your teams amazing efforts paid off. And I find it fitting that STC filmed her to fit her into the end of their story "Fairest of Them All".

Yes, I even got to be in that scene! Great fun and kudos to Vic for the inspiration and perspiration.

It really is baffling these supporters who can't understand that AP pissed away close to a million dollars on the "studio" rent and improvements alone and is now giving it away for free without filming one frame of film. He spent all of that money on nothing basically (except of course to start a business for this "Danny").

So the only deal AP was able to accomplish was to give away everything to "Danny" in order to break the lease. Great business plan; where do I invest!!!! lol

I think Danny is the only one who benefits from all this. He got paid rent for 2 and a half years and now gets to keep the hundreds of thousand dollars of upgrades that Alec did.

I guess he still has to sound proof the place, but if the rest of the infrastructure is up to code, he will indeed be the big winner.

So according to that latest update he says the landlord will pay something towards the upgrades. If it got them out of the lease, it had to be in his (the landlords') favor. But that still should mean it's money back in the production coffers, right? So an announcement shortly to give a more concrete filming schedule, right?:techman:

What happened to the super double secret investor group that was supposed to have paid Axanot's investment back to take over the studio? Oh, yeah. Smoke and mirrors.

Danny, Alec's Imaginary Friend is the angel investor who will save the studio, and let Alec walk away from failure unscathed, yet again.

This is all Alec's spin. It looks like he does have to vacate the premises and find a place to store those poor unfinished sets. I assume he will have to find a new home for Propworx as well. I really don't think it's as rosy as he wants his minions to believe........

Danny is not imaginary. I did some research and found him and he does exist. Owns or is involved in 4 or 5 companies including a realtor company.
