The Americans is Delightful.

Maybe it has something to do with the kid's availability? Maybe his parents want him to have a normal school year instead of on-set tutoring?

I don't know, obviously, but it seems to me that they could easily do more with him than have him at the arcade all day if they wanted...so maybe their hands are tied and that's why he's no longer a series regular.

Henry's main function to date has been to provide a contrast to Paige. He's the clueless little brother who is too young to pick up on anything fishy or to be let in on the Big Secret. He's the innocent they all have to keep in the dark--and who will be utterly blindsided if and when they have to cut and run.

Not a big part, granted, but it serves a purpose. I'm not sure he needs to be developed any more than that. Lord know I'm not tuning in every week to find out what's up with Henry. :)
Fair points, although I do tune in to see what he plays next on his Commodore 64. For nostalgia's sake, of course. :D

Maybe but the actor, Keidrich Sellati, has been a cast member since the first season, and I just checked the credits of the newest episode, and he's still listed.

Anyone catch the Dark Crystal t-shirt that the Vietnamese kid was wearing when they went out to dinner at the bowling alley? That one put a smile on my face. Lots of nice little 80's nostalgic touches for those of us who remember those days.

So what's Henry up to in Math class? I think they'll go in there thinking that he's slacking off, and the teacher will be like "Your son is super-gifted."

Philip and Elizabeth are getting burned out. You can tell. They aren't very enthusiastic about seducing their assets in Topeka

Who called Stan's new girlfriend as a honeypot? Seems they're going down that road.

Not just that, but they're spread too thin. They even told Gabriel but he doesn't seem to care. Either, one of them gets sloppy and makes a mistake or they'll finally reach their breaking point and decide they've had enough.

^^^ To be fair, Gabriel did give them an opportunity to take a "vacation" of sorts at the end of last season (IIRC, they were talking about going to Disney World at one point), but they skipped it and went right back to work, immediately going after the defector. They kind of have themselves to blame for that if something goes sideways. The potential for epic catastrophe is significantly growing with every episode.

Yes the math teacher mystery has me at the edge of my seat!!

Also. How much time has passed since last season? That baby looked no more than 3 months old, unless it's a super stunted one or something..

Yeah, but Henry's grown a foot and a half!

I really hope Oleg gets clear of this stuff. I like him.

Beaman is an idiot for trying to blackmail the FBI. I couldn't believe that scene. Nice loyalty to Oleg I suppose, but very stupid maneuver.

WE WANT MORE MARTHA!

I'd say 3 months have passed. They watched "The Day After" at the tail end of last season, which aired in November 1983. This season, Elizabeth mentioned watching the Winter Olympics to Paige, and a newspaper showed a date of February 1984.

ooo thanks tomalek that is awesome info.

Also yeah, the blackmailing FBI scene, wasn't keen on that one. I know he feels like shit but it's not like Oleg was his lover.

Damn. They got the wheat plot wrong...meaning Philip killed an innocent man. Unsurprisingly, that has rocked Philip to the core. Again. Probably a good thing Gabriel has blocked Mischa's attempts to visit his father because Claudia is right: Philip is vulnerable.

I couldn't help but laugh out loud at Elizabeth's blatant fake moaning so she could scan the room during sex. Benjamin was way in too deeply to notice.

Looks likely Renee is indeed a honeypot...unless Philip is wrong about that, too.

And it turns out Henry is a math genius. At least the writers finally found something for him to do.

Forgot to mention that I was very amused by Oleg's parents attempt to give him a buffet-style of women to choose from. Soooo awkward.

Out of curiosity, I looked up all three of the actresses on IMDb and Lyanka Gryu, who played the childhood friend, Elina, has by far the biggest resume on the site, including a Russian version of Sherlock Holmes where she played Irene Adler multiple times.
