They love #AltFacts.........saw a Axanar Marine denying that Tony Todd quit......Alec told him he was written out and no longer needed. I guess that's true......because he walked away, you had to write him out. That's some Obi-Wan "certain point of view" honesty........

"What is great is that Axanar is now a piece of Star Trek history. It is famous (some would say infamous!) and Richard Hatch’s Kharn the Undying is seen by many as one of the great Klingons in Star Trek."

I see that he's hijacked another IP for his own use.

I'm going to say something that's probably not very popular.
I applaud Trekyards for having an interview with Peters in a non hostile format. It dashed any remaining hope that the lawsuit may have stirred Alec from his delusions of grandeur. I don't know what anyone else saw or heard but I heard a man belittling in one way or the other all the fan films that came before him except one 5 1/2 min production of The Infinite Sky. Oh yeah we can have 30 - 40 productions of that each year as proof that Alec's actions was actually a good thing for fan films. He still doesn't get it, it's not about the destination it's about the journey.

Let's face it, there is a 1 1/2 minute Dog Tease video with 184 million hits, maybe Alec should copy that.

He talks about people who have or have not accomplished anything in life.

Requiring a few million dollars and a bunch of years to get to where he can start making a 25000$ fan film *if* people pay for *that* as a fresh funding cycle, and setting himself up as the king of on-screen fan cosplaying of a very minor character of a long gone SF show... and diverting hundreds and hundreds of thousands of fan money into an asset for his personal future... and that's his WHOLE LIFE...

Someone who earns 100$ by their hand and donates it to the Red Cross has in net accomplished meaningfully more.

Endless ego posturing about the importance of anything he has done with Axanar or where he stands now wrt/ Trek is less meaningful at this point than whether "Trix are for kids" was the real justification for the invasion of Bajor. Just utterly empty and pointless and fictitious, except one might be able to see some humor in it "from a certain point of view".

Mr. Praline: 'E's not pinin'! 'E's passed on! This parrot is no more! He has ceased to be! 'E's expired and gone to meet 'is maker! 'E's a stiff! Bereft of life, 'e rests in peace! If you hadn't nailed 'im to the perch 'e'd be pushing up the daisies! 'Is metabolic processes are now 'istory! 'E's off the twig! 'E's kicked the bucket, 'e's shuffled off 'is mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisible!! THIS IS AN EX-PARROT!!

Maybe he should copy Horizon, it has almost twice as many YouTube views as Axanar, accumulated in 1/3 the time, perhaps even more impressive in light of the huge publicly boost Axanar received from the trial.
The problem is - the person behind Horizon (Tommy Kraft - who also did the compositing for 'Prelude to Axanar'; but was labeled a 'hater' and accused of other things by the Axanar crowd when Horizons YouTube views passed Prelude's) worked hard doing all the editing, mixing, etc. himself which took nearly 3 years.

In other words, Tommy Kraft WORKED on his project and released it - as opposed the Alec Peters paradigm of talking about your project for YEARS, but doing no real work on or for the actual project beyond fundraising, which you then use to live on.
^^^
As long as Alec Peters does the above - which I don't see ending anytime soon. All we'll ever see of Axanar are the verbal descriptions from Alec Peters. ;)

Vsauce has multi million dollar sets (not), tons of cool stuff and high power talent. If you're not careful you might even learn something of value.

When there is a lot of crap just beneath the veneer or respectability that true believers hold, things can go south really quickly because of one too many outrages. If for example the production of actual Axanar content is now subject to more excuses, it could precipitate the change. If some govt agencies came after him, this could bring a lot of support down -- look at the reputation of tax fraud televangelists for example. They may survive over time, but only after they lose their vehicle and confess their sins.
In most instances you'd be right but with this one, to paraphrase something I read recently regarding President Trump, only proof of child molestation or war crimes would cause people to question their support of Peters and belief of what he tells them. There may well be choppy waters ahead (although I doubt it) but Peters will simply tell his supporters there are no waves. He has fought a lawsuit against two major companies and not lost, I think the window for any further action is closing if not already closed. If anybody was going to start any class actions they would've by now, surely?

This guff about him being the King Of Fan Films, Axanar being a part of Trek history now and Hatch being one of the great Klingon actors he really believes it and, be default, so do his supporters.
