The New USS Discovery....

So how big the USS Discovery will be? A heavy cruiser just like a Constitution Class? A lighter one like Miranda? Or even smaller like Danube Class?
The USS Discovery as seen in the teaser trailer is bigger than the TOS Enterprise, with more internal space due to the shape. How much bigger, we don't know exactly.

The wireframe ship could be any size:shrug:

USS Discovery - a big ship with a small crew would allow for more automation; maybe the robots Bryan Fuller said would appear.
Is this a big "hello" to 'Star Trek: Andromeda'?

One of the better things that come out from Star Trek Into Darkness was officer 0718 which was interfaced with the ship. I would love a similar character on Discovery. Like if it is really a Section 31 ship, maybe S31 would be making trials of direct neural ship interfacing ... But most probably we will not get such a character

I like it better than what was seen in the teaser but it looks too much like the Akira or NX-Enterprise. It shouldn't be that hard to do something that looks different but still nice.

It was said before: this is not the Discovery. This is probably the Shenzhou or some other ship that will appear in the show. The guys from Trekyard clearly say this, you just have to watch the video.

So could the wireframe ship actually be this one? I know the Shenzhou is more likely but considering the very John Eaves style it has I'd say it is possible.

Why not both? The class could be naked for Glenn, while the ship has it's own name.

Anyone else notice the lack of an obvious bridge dome on this ship? Unless it's that thing sticking up at the back of the saucer...

But if it's bigger than the TOS Enterprise, then it should be lead by a Captain, not a mere Lieutenant Commander

It might not be finished yet, notice that the area the bridge usually goes is currently a featureless plane on the wireframe. They might be slapping one on there before fully skinning the model.

Total speculation: This ship is from the future, and creates a situation that is the crux of what is going on with the Shenzhou, the Discovery, and the Klingon ship. Maybe they're all racing to recover its future tech?

My theory is that this ship is from the future, specifically the 24th century, and that this

is its bridge.

Why does anyone think the ship is from the future?

Nothing on this show is going to look like TOS - it's all being redesigned, and it'll be much more modern tech. That's why the sets look more "advanced" than TOS, not because of the time period the ships belong to.

Guh. And I thought Enterprise was an overwrought pile of shite. I hope they manage to get this right, or it'll probably put me off Trek for good. And I've been watching since TOS first aired.
