Oh yeah, for sure if we're talking the main movie corridors, those were all the same panels, redressed. I wonder if the carpet was tacked somehow around the back, as oppose to glued. That would be a nightmare cleaning off if they did it too extensively. Remember they also had carpeting covering them when they redressed the TNG corridors as other starship interiors. But if they did spray adhesive, that could account for surface differences. Such a shame that the majority seems to have been scapped after Voyager, rather than selling off lots of exemplars.
In both the Making of TMP and the Return To Tomorrow books on the making of the movie, I recall that the set dresser, Linda DeScenna, I believe said that the corridor panel coverings were girdle material called (I think) PowerFlex... a stretchable fabric that was new at the time. They used it on a lot of the upholstery for the furniture in TMP... the bridge chairs, the rec dec couches, Kirk's bed.
Weren't these arches made for Star Trek VI -- as inserts into the curved TNG corridor to narrow them down (and make them look similar to the original TMP versions prior to being revamped for TNG)? They weren't made for TMP and in TUC you can see that they have just been inserted along the corridor length to narrow the width...
I think the fabric wasn't permanent, some scenes the panels had a brown / maroon fabric on them I'm guessing that's when this material was used
Yeah, it had to be something that was easily removeable, because the only scene with fabric-covered panels is the Decker/Ilia scene outside Kirk's quarters. They'd want something that could be easily and quickly redressed once all the scenes on that deck had been filmed.
Ryann866 - you are right, they are closer to the corridor inserts of ST:VI I've finished blueprinting the TNG braced corridor Previously posted (Flickr links): (1) Corridor Arch (2) Standard Width Arch New pages (Flickr links): (3) Reduced Width Arch (4) Rounded Archway (5) Braced Corridor Floor Plan (6) Sections A-D (7) Sections E and F (8) Corridor End (9) Wall Panels (10) Panel Labels (11) Panel Strips (12) Ceilings (13) Ceiling Display (14) Doorways (15) Corridor Intersection (16) Alcove (17) Wall Display This latest release brings the Galaxy Project up to 66 pages! Only 600 to go... PDF of entire Galaxy Project on my deviantart: http://radishdalek.deviantart.com/art/Galaxy-Project-set-blueprints-623274564 3D corridor model available on my sketchup warehouse page: https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/by/redgeneral I currently writing up a little piece on how I make these plans - hopefully it should be done soon-ish
Thank you for the complement - I just like sharing my hobby and hope it helps others I've spotted a serious mistake in my recent corridor plans - section C had the wrong doorway width (transporter door), which impacted the width of the section and the total corridor length. The TNG transporter doorway was very wide at 6'0", but Voyager's set remodelling reduced the width to 4'0". I put in the second width by mistake. Corrected pages (flickr links): (5) Braced Corridor Floor Plan (6) Sections A-D (12) Ceilings (14) Doorways Also the 3d model on sketchup warehouse and the pdf on deviantart have both been updated
Do we have this variant of the defiant? http://www.ebay.com/itm/HUGE-Orig-1...LLUM-plan-w-new-old-sets-from-S1/262794885435 This one is the season 3 variant with the slightly different messhall and the transporter room as part of the corridors. IT also has a variation of the DS9 hologrid.
Well spotted Count - I've now put them on flickr Stage 18 - defiant etc Runabout close up I've found a group of set blueprints and references for ST:Beyond from http://www.alpcreative.com/portfolio/star-trek-beyond-paramount-pictures/ (all links below are flickr links) Torpedo: Blueprint Render A Render B Ref 1 Ref 2 Ref 3 Swarm ship: Blueprint A Blueprint B Blueprint C Blueprint D Blueprint E Interior Render Corridor + swarm ship exterior render Spherical room: Blueprint Render A Render B Render C Saucer thruster Blueprint Ref A Ref B Turbolift exterior Ref A Ref B Ref C

Star Trek Discovery just did a brief behind the scenes video, which included what looked like a blueprint of a bridge and corridor. I don't know if it is the discovery or another ship. https://www.flickr.com/photos/99878876@N02/32595347776/
My guess is it's of the Shenzhou. Rumor has it, the show is supposed to start there. my guess the wireframe ship is the shinzou as well.
Well, if the rumors about Discovery containing Klingon tech are true, then this might be legit - Klingon bridges (with the exception of the redressed BOP in TVH) almost always seem to have the captain's chair smack-dab in the middle. Just like this.
I'm doubling down on the Shenzhou, based off of: http://discovery.trekcore.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pid=202&fullsize=1 (top left corner)
