Well that's too bad, I was just about ready to ask where I could find copies of these. :/

Eh, I like them. If you can find them (digital copies exist, so I'm sure you can find them legally online)

Only thing I don't like is the ending of ROTJ's infinities.

I kind of like the idea of Anakin ending up needing to "kill the Jedi to save them", in the sense that they're the ones who end up falling to the Dark Side after killing Sidious but losing track of their own desires to "protect" the Republic.

Actually given Anakin's political views, he'd probably side with Windu. The question would be which side would Kenobi and Yoda take? I think initially Kenobi at least would go along with it but with increasing misgivings.

You'd probably still have Padme & Bail forming a resistance, only this time with Jedi in it from the offset. Recruiting Ahsoka is a no-brainer and they might even break Barris out of prison since she would basically have been proven right.

I grade this effort as an A+.

I think this movie is better than the prequels and TFA.

Same here. I think it's far tighter, superior film to TFA, and way above the prequels, and probably ROTJ too. Latterly for me I've got ANH as the best with ESB a very close second. Not a popular view I know, but hey ho. I think RO is right up there with ESB.

Not only was is presented well (visuals and story telling) it was a NEW STORY!!! TFA was nothing more than ANH with a huge budget and higher expectations.

I found the majority of the visuals in TFA inferior also. The ones in RO were just so much more exciting and inventive. The end battle absolutely pissed on anything in it. Not to mention the abundance of alien worlds, which was another thing lacking in TFA.

And they labeled the planets!! ☺

What do you mean?
TFA had the Sand Planet, the Green Planet, the Base Planet, the City Planet, the Ice Planet and the Water Planet.

Which all looked like earth. I felt like Rogue one really transported you to more weird and wonderful places, everything just seemed so much more rich and immersive to me.

I'm on record as saying I'd like to see them take this all the way up to the Battle of Jakku. That said, Rebels isn't an anthology show like Clone Wars was so if they want to depict that conversation between Leia and Bail, they need to find a way to organically weave it into the Ghost crew's story. Otherwise it's just hollow fan service.
I don't think "fan service" is quite the right term for this kind of thing... at least not judging by its original meaning as used among the anime fan community.

Eh. I think this is one of those terms who's meaning has shifted somewhat from it's origins.
Or not, since what constitutes service is subjective and the type of anime fan that sort of thing applies to typically only has one thing on their mind.

But hey, if you know of a better phrase to describe giving the fans something they want, for literally no other reason than that they just want it, even if it's at the cost of the overall quality of the product I'm always willing to expand my vocabulary. ;)

Wow. I'd never thought of that. Cool.

I've seen a couple of stories about how Vader finds out WHO blew up the station. But never about how.

Thank you. But given the way that it IS written, the Hope theme played in a big Star Wars fanfare over the titles makes me cry now. Dammit.

Does anyone else feel a kind of missed opportunity that Bail and Leia are never on screen together? I mean, I know Leia is the Wow Finish, the movie's exclamation point, and I can't think of a way to put her anywhere in the movie with Bail. But still...
The rebels know, and someone talked?
The first arcs in the current Marvel Star Wars and the recently finished Darth Vader comic series dealt with how Vader learned Luke destroyed the Death Star. There was some crossover with different series showing different parts of the same situations.

I respect your opinion.

However, I just watched ROTS for the 1st time in 5 years and it's wayyyyyy better than RO. Better characters. Even It's faults are more interesting than most of RO.

Question: when Episode 8 comes out, is everyone going to suddenly bag on RO? That seems the new fashion. TFA was solid. Rey, Finn, and Kyle are better than anyone in RO.

Thank you.

Won't bag. No need to.

My opinion is Finn is completely disposable and Kyle was aloof.

I loved Rey, but equally enjoyed Jyn.

The ending of R1 was emotional. Surprising for all new characters. The ending of TFA with familiar characters was no so good.

I can't wait for E8 and a NEW story. (Fingers crossed)

Since I enjoyed the characters for entirely different reasons, then, no, I'll have no complaints about RO when 8 comes out. That's kind of an odd statement, since I have heard mixed reviews of every Star Wars movie since their inception.

I have come to appreciate ROTS more over the years since I first saw it, but I think I will still err towards RO. However, after either one, I'm watching ANH ;)

Well I for one was distracted once or twice by Jyn's posterior. The slow motion running teaser helped with that a bit.

And they labeled the planets!! ☺
That was one of my favorite features of the movie.

Have to be honest though, I gave it a B. It was a good movie, but there was just something about it that kept it from being perfect to me.
