Seriously fuck 2016. My condolences to her family and to Mark and Harrison and the rest of the Star Wars family. I know it's too early to speculate but I wonder what was left to film in episode 8 and what changes they're going to have to make to episode 9 and how much of a role she was going to play in bringing her son back from the Dark Side

I requested her book from the library before Christmas. I was busy and than it was closed the last few days. It was waiting for me before her heart attack but early today was the first I able to pick it up. I had been reading it while was helping my sister was getting ready to fly home after the holidays. So had been off line the last few hours. While I was reading it I was reminded how open and honest she was. The whole time I had this feeling I might of missed some bad news on her condition. For the the last month or so, Twitter user @christhebarker has been updating a rough photo collage tribute a la Sgt. Pepper's and he has updated it with Carrie Fisher (and Richard Adams).

I don't know. 2015 had a pretty long list in that area too. More of those names were familiar to me than this years'. Still, this one hit hard even though I'd been expecting to hear it since news of her heart attack broke, plus knowing her history, this was not that much of a surprise.

Sitting at home with a cold and throw in The Force Awakens to bide some achy time. Everytime I see her on screen I'm thinking, "Dang, I hope she makes it. They said she was stable. I should go online and see what's the latest...".
Just as I finish the movie, my partner comes home, only to crank on his internet and announce she's passed away. Gut punch. Just gut wrenching punch.
I won't dare ask if 2016 could suck more, as I fear it will answer me.

If anyone's interested, I think this is the last thing she recorded and why she was flying home from London. She seemed quite spritely and was rather funny to boot.
