RIP Gene Wilder

"Oompa Loompa doom-pa-dee-do
Gene Wilder died, how sad for you."
I'm going to assume that this was just an attempt at a joke (in poor taste) that failed miserably rather than trolling, but let's not do this again please. Other people quoted funny bits from Wilder's films but they didn't alter it to make a callous remark or fail to then say something respectful about his passing.

Yup, I was just trying to emulate the direct style of the Oompa Loompa's narration in the movie, but see now how that might come off as callous. Sorry for any offensive given.

RIP, Gene Wilder. :(

His performance in Young Frankenstein was an all-time classic.

I can't believe he was in his 80s.

I was thinking yesterday the only Gene Wilder film I've seen was Willy Wonka. It was amazing in that movie, but I wish there were some Wilder films on Netflix like Young Frankenstein or Blazing Saddles.

RIP to a great actor. :(

This might seem callous, but I'd be surprised if one of the channels like AMC or TCM doesn't do a Wilder movie marathon.

Blazing Saddles is so ridiculously funny. One of the most easily quoted movies I've ever seen. Just don't watch it on regular TV. It needs to be uncut.

And it could never be made in this day and age - not just because of language...

So many people have said that "it's full of racism"...not understanding that it's actually a very good send-up of racism, and greed and ... on and on...
