When I looked at the art at the top of the page, it looked kind of familiar: http://www.startrek.com/article/roddenberrys-366-project-spotlights-tas Is this artwork by Trek BBS member Kail Tescar?
It looks like it. That exact image is featured on his website. (scroll down a bit) http://www.startrekanimated.com/tas_cast.html Kor
The recent fiftieth anniversary Star Trek documentary on the History Channel used a couple works of fan art without crediting them. Poor form. Kor
Thanks for pointing this out. Yes, that is my work, and no, no one asked permission to use it. They've even cropped out my website address. I guess since they own Star Trek they can do whatever they want.
That was my assumption, as well, Kail - since CBS/Paramount own the Trek copyright, they probably feel they therefore own the copyright of any and all derivative works; not being a lawyer, I don't know how accurate that might be. BTW, it looks like that same piece was used in the History channel 50th anniversary special; I just watched it last night, finally, and it was one of the transition graphics.
