*Potential Spoilers* What will the Alternate Enterprise-A look like

The NuEnterprise-A looks A LOT like these proposed refits for the NuEnterprise that are floating DeviantArt for years!!!

Keep that metallic/grey and it would have been an improvement over what we actually got.

They also seemed to try to keep the Ent-A lit very dark on the camera side and only silhouetted with light from behind. This gives them the ability to alter some things if they want to in the next movie without it being too noticeable.

So the refit Enterprise seen at the beginning of Beyond, are we suppose to believe that it's the same thing as what we saw at the end of Into Darkness?

I still want to know why they aren't releasing OFFICIAL images of the Nu-A as of yet! Dangit, its already release date, they already have the QmX model....LETS SEE THE NuENTERPRISE-A IN FULL GLORY!!!!

Question:

Does the Ent-A possess the same swept back nacelle struts of the Enterpise, seen prior to her destruction in Beyond?

Thanks in advance!

Edit: just clicked on the above link! That answers my question! :)

Meh, still not a fan of the design. Totally looks like something the guys at Cryptic cooked up for ST Online. The proportions of the pylons are way off. I'd rather they had gone with an Excelsior style which would have held up better to Krall's assault.

That part I do like - the wider set nacelles. And yeah, was really holding out hope for red nacelle caps as well. Still don't understand why they felt they needed to change up such an iconic part of the design from the beginning.

^ Thats why. It just doesn't look as nice as the blue. I thought I'd play around with the colours in STO and it doesn't look right at all.

No - defiantly not.

It was no doubt meant to be a refit, that replaced the warp nacelles with a newer, smaller, swept back, design.

Just because some people may not have access to the reference material, and the very long tradition of visual analysis of starships in the fan community, I will explain: in the Original Timeline, the USS Enterprise is thought to have been refit at least twice - 1). Captain Pike's TOS Enterprise (first seen in "The Cage") was refit into Captain Kirk's TOS Enterprise sometime after "Where No Man Has Gone Before" (Pike's configuration was still used in the original Kirk pilot), and then 2). Captain Kirk's TOS Enterprise was refit into Captain Kirk's TMP Enterprise (first seen in "The Motion Picture"). There may have been other minor refits that didn't impact the ship's appearance as much.

So, the difference between Into Darkness and Beyond, is probably analogous to the difference between Pike's and Kirk's Enterprises. It's very similar to how you tell Navy warships apart - by looking at minor differences in their command towers, etc. Note the differences in the size of the deflector dish, rear end of the warp nacelles, bussard collectors having spikes, and the bridge dome being different, etc, in the first refit:

So this refit, in the Kelvin Timeline, which has taken place some times between 2260 (Into Darkness) and 2263 (Beyond), can be seen as a direct analogue to that first refit of Pike's Enterprise into Kirk's Enterprise, which took place some time after 2265 (Where No Man Has Gone Before) in the original timeline.
