*Potential Spoilers* What will the Alternate Enterprise-A look like

Can someone do a mockup hand drawing?

I would try but I can't remember what I saw that well.

But yeah, more TOS like I think - I never liked the massive "underbite" that the JJ Abrams ship had, and if I saw it corrently, the new ship is much closer to the classic Enterprise with the secondary hull being attached at a similar place to the original ship, having more spread out nacelles, and the bussard collectors being more classic.

It looked very similar to a concept I've seen but can't quite pin it down.

I think that in a day or two we'll start seeing screenshots. Not of the best quality but there will be some.

Also don't forget that this new 1701A is commissioned in 2263, the original time line 1701A was commissioned in 2286.

23 year difference, perhaps we will also see an equivalent Excelsior class much sooner as well.

I wonder how the Ent-D wld look like in this alternate universe... But thats still a long way to go..lol..

Yep, this is the reason we cannot see this Enterprise A as a direct analogy to the original one.

Also Kirk's first five year mission is taking place earlier in his career than in the original timeline.

The original Enterprise went through at least two major refits:

- TOS "The Cage", etc (slightly different nacelles)

- TOS "Season 1-3" (classic nacelles)

- TMP, etc (rectangular nacelles)

Then it was replaced by a ship of the same class.

The Kelvin timeline Enterprise, had one known major refit:

- Star Trek 2009 (with big nacelles)

- Star Trek Beyond (with small nacelles)

Then it was replaced by a ship that is either a new class, or an extensive (early) refit of the Kelvin Constitution-class.

It is never stated in the film that the ship was commissioned nor launched in 2263. At most, we know that the ship was under construction in 2263 at Starbase Yorktown and, if the ship mentioned by Commodore Paris is the same as the Enterprise-A, she was the most advanced ship in the fleet upon completion.

The ship makes another appearance in the end credits, as she is seen flying in the nebula. Her collectors were red during its brief appearance.

Which brings up the question why the most advanced ship in the fleet is being built on a space station on the edge of Federation space instead of Utopia Planitia or whereever they build ships in the Kelvin Timeline.

Starbase Yorktown seems like a much more extensive facility than any in the prime timeline, more like a new Federation colony, so its perhaps not as far fetched as it would have been in the prime timeline.

I thought it was interesting that the bottom of the saucer had the registry number on it and maybe even, oddly, the name too.

First impressions: Some people will be very happy. The nacelles are further apart and they are rounder and thinner. The saucer edges are more beveled and therefore sleeker.
