Do you think LGBT characters will feature more prominently?

Everything in the new time line is identical to the old one, except for that which is different. more is the same than is different because only knock on effects form the Kelvin is responsible for all the change.

Khans gene mod's are 200 years old. Maybe he updated and overclocked himself since he left the big chill, but federation science couldn't fix cute little Lucille Harewood, and Bones couldn't reverse Kirk's death.

Bones is only 200 years behind Khan with doctoring, because Khan is using forbidden technology that Bone's has to pretend does not exist.

Except that it's not stated as such. Honestly, there's really not enough evidence either way, but seeing 0178 makes me think that there has been a loosening of such restrictions, considering what cybernetic implants can do to the body.

There's also the cybercops.

And McCoy is allowed to do anything to whoever or whatever he likes when the Enterprise is in space. He was experimenting on dead Tribbles openly.

And when examining the Augments, no mention of a ban on genetic engineering is made. Only DS9 ever said that and quite frankly, fuck that emo "look at me I'm all dark and shit!" series.

And before you say "Section 31", Enterprise had them in the series so you don't lose them by ignoring DS9 either.

Embryos kept in a guarded vault?

Baby jail.

The 22nd century Augments believed that Star Fleet was going to hunt them and kill them all, which is why they hid in the ass end of no where their entire lives.

Only going by official sources, like on screen canon and Memory Alpha
Where on screen is the character of 0718 (i.e. no Human name) indicated to be Human, as opposed to an alien. Actor's personal opinions are not canon.
as per the Memory Alpha article I posted earlier
Like actor's opinions, memory alpha also isn't canon, it's just a fan run wiki site.
cybernetic enhancement
Say who? He's a background extra, everything we see in terms of his appearance could simply be natural biological attributes for his particular species.
Yorktown is the embodiment of the Federation ...
What Yorktown is this?
in the defunct universe, which is irrelevant
The new series is going to be in what universe? Prime, Abrams, or a new one? If a new one, will it be closer to a universe with over seven hundred hours of content, or one with a insignificant six.

Eh, maybe. It was left up to him to fill in most of the blanks.

In a universe that no longer matters. Welcome to the new Star Trek universe which took over in 2009.
NuTrek is an alternate timeline, like the one where the E-C wasn't lost defending Narendra, the one where O'Brien wasn't jumping forward in time, the one where Kes remained on Voyager, or when Archer wasn't cured of those neural parasites, all of which are overruled by the Prime timeline.

The current timeline, known as the Kelvin timeline, is what matters. What happened after the split, in the prime timeline, no longer applies.

20%. It sounds self-selecting. It's possible to position yourself, accidentally or intentionally, among a disproportionate percentage of any population with a certain attribute. Gay (LG) is argued to be about 8 to 10%. Expanding that to the BT set does increase the percentage, but I've never seen it quantified.

I live in a very accepting and open city in a country that celebrated the legal status of same sex marriage. So I expect I'd meet more in the LGBT category here than I would have living in the countryside - but it was the word 'rare' that struck me as odd and makes me think of Little Britains "Only Gay in the Village" sketches :p

As the number of people I know expands outward, I'm finding that being gay isn't as rare as some seem to think it is.

Spock is relevant because he chose to follow Nero into the altered timeline/universe.
Excuse me, at what point did old Spock choose? Both he and Nero were pulled into the supernova/black hole against their will.

In fact iirc Spock was pulled in first.

I have to come back to this, what Yorktown are you referring too?

Granted, both ships were pulled into the black hole, but Spock was not pulled in first, hence his appearing 25 years after Nero emerged. Regardless, they were both elements of the Prime universe that became a part of the alternate universe.

Per multiple interviews with JJ Abrams, the prime universe is still there and unaffected by any of the events in the Abrams universe.
