And this is Vega$ weekend. Dan Tanna. He's the Lone Ranger. He's the Ghost of Christmas Past. And he's gonna nail you, turkey.
I had this idea in my child's mind (many years ago) that Tarzan--shades of Swamp Thing--could somehow go from jungles in South America to Africa without really travelling.
I remember thinking that Tarzan's jungle was somehow magically connected to another dimension where the world was one big jungle-- there was no specific portal or anything, just a smooth transition so that nobody ever noticed that they were passing back and forth.
I haven't been able to sit through an entire episode of Vega$, but I've seen some bits and pieces and watched the opening credits a few times. Some memories have been stirred up. I had forgotten that Greg Morris was not in the first few episodes of the regular series after being in the pilot-- negotiations, maybe? I had also forgotten about the hard-nosed policewoman, who was also in the pilot, but I think disappeared when Greg Morris came back. I definitely remember that Will Sampson was only in the first few episodes (and was never in the opening credits). And I definitely remember that Tony Curtis was only in the first half season or so. Both Sampson and Curtis appeared in one episode apiece in season two (the first two episodes), and then Curtis appeared in a handful in season three. Tanna's sidekick in the pilot was the Armenian guy, Costigian, who disappeared from the regular series, then appeared in two or three episodes in a row in season three. Binzer was just an extra in the pilot, but became the sidekick in the series (and didn't get a real name until season three). Tanna started out with two showgirls as helpers, the mature Beatrice and the bubble-headed Angie, but Angie disappeared after a while. He also had a sister in the pilot who, I believe, only returned once. I think I've got all that right.
I also seem to recall that a lot of people got new first names after the pilot. George Nelson became Dave Nelson, Bernie Roth became Philip Roth (!), and Ray Costigian became Mitch Costigian.
That was thirty-five years ago. Now ask me what I had for lunch yesterday.

I don't know anything about Vega$, but it must have come on after something that I watched in its original run, because I remember seeing the intro.
As I recall, it was on Wednesday nights at 10oclock, right after Charlie's Angels. They were both Spelling detective shows.
I actually got to see my favorite episode, "The Usurper," where Roth's brother tries to blackmail Roth out of his fortune using a tape of Roth "discussing" the assassination of Castro with the CIA, using inside info from when he was cozy with Batista.

I'm not so familiar with that one, but it appears to be worth a look. Nothing like an old-school detective show. I love the car and the voice over. 
Never got into it myself, though I used to sometimes have it on in the background when I had Me. But it is noteworthy, at least, as being the show that Honey West spun off from. Decades showed that episode in their daily lineup a bit back.
Burke's Law is also noteworthy for being one of various older shows that got revived decades later with the same lead, in 1994-5. They even brought back Anne Francis as Honey West, but had to change her name to Honey Best for legal reasons.

Honey was originally a literary character, so probably something to do with the rights.
Could be, although aside from the name the two characters have nothing in common. Both are good in their own way. I've got a couple of the books, but the series is mostly out of print, and I've got the series on DVD. It would be nice if they showed that one, too, but there's not enough episodes for a binge without repeating them.
They did it for The Green Hornet...I caught some episodes three times that weekend!
