I meant viewers, not the filmmakers.
Fan Films shouldn't even be compared to professional productions but views do it. I actually enjoy them and became involved because of the process required to make them. Once the social funding became involved my interests dropped, I'd rather watch an old episode of Eagle than a million dollar "fan" production.

Hi!

Blog post is up. We were pretty mellow this week (someone secretly replaced our raktajino with decaf raktajino crystals, it appears) and so table-pounding was at a minimum. We talked about the other productions and who has been contacted and who may have been contacted by CBS Legal, as the unofficial production landscape begins to shift.

Stay tuned for the YouTube video, where I give a shoutout to @HIjol .

Thank you, as always, for your kind support.

Well my production was, admittedly, just two paper starships circling round my pet cat
When are you planning to do your Kickstarter?

With all due respect to CGI and Special Effects departments, two paper towel rolls make crackerjack nacelles...paint 'em up and you got Warp Speed, now!

Plus, the toilet paper roll makes a pretty good Engineering hull!

Not the first time toiletries have been used in Star Trek... Was the EP607 from "Arsenal of Freedom" not partly made with a shampoo bottle?

Is it the largest spare gray carpeting in an independent production? This is key to its ultimate success.

Of course...

Hadn't thought of Kickstarter yet, to be honest, but I'll think about it

The question is, of course, would people watch it?

And a Greyscreen? Films space scenes better? Yes? Alex?...is this thing on?

Grey screens... Might work

Thanks for posting, Guyott, and to answer the question the Blogger asks at the end of his post, I think the difference is, His Lordship has made it pretty darned clear that he is not making a Fan Film, but a Feature...a Feature that is intended to make Money. And, if I understand things correctly, that is something that will be the attention of the Infringees. I also am surprised about other Fan Films using images and costumes and accessories directly from Star Trek®, but, maybe it has to so with The Money. The other productions aren't designed to, and aren't trying to, make money.

First trailer is up for my project - cost me a hundred grand to get made with top of the line graphics, make up artists, an award winning director and a model making team of thousands

There's a Bill somebody on the phone for you. I don't think it's Shatner.
