This would have been better with a $1.3 million reward imo.

Anybody have an idea as to what caused CBS/P to pull the trigger on Horizon- was it due to the fundraising target level?
Of all fan productions I would have thought they would have been safe- no physical sets and a very simple production set up.
I'll step out here for a moment and say I don't see anything intrinsically wrong with using crowd-funding/internet for raising funding via fans for fan-films. STC seemed to be using it ok, and producing interesting stuff. You know, all this mess might restore fan films to what I always thought they were supposed to be: a labor of love produced by fans who wanted to use their own time and money to make a homage to their favorite Sci-Fi franchise.
European civil war?You can't make it up...Nor could I screenshot it.
Under the wanted post was an animated advert for a degree in ww1 and ww2 history (apparently now being referred to as the first and second European civil war by pro EU news on the BBC my father tells me)
With images of the Nazi's massing and marching about in a montage.
I loled
I agree with you. I think crowdfunding was something fan films were always going to try, but they seriously downplayed the risk involved legally speaking. And it also sort of ruins the point of a fan film, in my eye. I want to see stuff like Horizon, made on a shoestring by enthusiasts with talent, not a multi million dollar movie. I've got Paramount for that. You know, all this mess might restore fan films to what I always thought they were supposed to be: a labor of love produced by fans who wanted to use their own time and money to make a homage to their favorite Sci-Fi franchise.
Your father is lying. The concept that the ongoing inter-European conflicts of the first half of the twentieth century constituted in essence an ongoing civil war is both a published academic idea, and nothing to do with the EU - it is to do with the inbred nature of European monarchy and government, and the often homogeneous culture between warring nations. It is a fringe view and neither pro- or anti- EU in nature.apparently now being referred to as the first and second European civil war by pro EU news on the BBC my father tells me
Now that it's increasingly appearing that Alec's misadventures have poisoned the fanfilm pool, I very much want to see him become a persona non grata. Not just in the fanfilm community, but in the Star Trek fandom. This man, and his greed, are starting to ruin things for more people, outside of the hapless folks that got suckered in the early stages of Axanar. I don't want to see this dimestore Samuel Bronston hurt anyone else.
Nah Warner Brothers has that all locked up themselvesSo he can move on to trashing the DC Comics fan films?
I read where Terry said they could delay payment on something and cancel other, the rent had to be paid so they would be using donor funds to pay the rent.Did your co-worker donate to Prelude or the full film? I seem to recall Alec or Terry hiding behind the logic that since Prelude was actually made, they wouldn't be refunding that money at all?
I know there have been a few people on the CBS v. Axanar FB group who have joined after being banned as "haters" on the Axanar Fan Group but who have also claimed Peters gave them their money back.
How about a link?Well, Terry Farell is talking in twitter like renegades is not going to go ahead either now.
