Spoilers STAR TREK BEYOND

I love that Google Translate makes it "Star Trek Without Borders"
That's not Google Translate's doing - it's a literal translation of the title for the Brazilian release (Star Trek: Sem Fronteiras).

Movie has a different title in Portugal, though (Star Trek: Além do Universo = Star Trek: Beyond the Universe) - I'm not sure whether that's particularly unusual, but ralph might know..

In portuguese "Beyond" means "Além" and doesn't sound right as movie title (sound is not good, it seems something sobrenatural). So, they have to look for alternatives.
"Sem Fronteiras" means borderless. I think it is more consistent.
In Portugal, It seems a little bizarre "Beyond the Universe".

I'm kind of disappointed that so far the bad guys are ugly aliens (Darth Maul syndrome) while the good guys (girl) are pretty. It's especially bad here since there are multiple alien types on the bad side.

Yeah, this raises the ugly specter of racism, calling them ugly.

Oddball said it best:
ODDBALL: Have a little faith, Crapgame. They're beautiful people.

Let's replace "ugly" with "scary looking". That might reflect my intent better.
It just seems like simplistic thinking or perhaps a cliché. It bothered me in Insurrection too.
I hope the movie shows a more complex dynamic with them. I have faith in Pegg's storytelling abilities, just not so much faith in the makeup designer's originality (Honestly, they look like a Jem'hadar and a Reman).

What if Krall's people are uber xenophobes that have been destroying any alien ship that comes close to their territory, not just for years but decades.

Then it would be logical, ahem, that the crew would have to deal with a multicultural mix of alien survivors, perhaps providing the leadership to band the ragtag group together..

From what Pegg said last year, it does now appear STB is perhaps a heist film populated with Star Trek characters.

The crew are split into 3 groups (Kirk, Chekov & Scotty; Bones & Spock; Uhura & Sulu). Each perhaps having a piece of the jigsaw puzzle. What they do, the alliances the forge, etc allow them to complete their tasks ie, pull off the heist.

I wonder if these two actors with Justin Lin would be a kind of comic relief, the same way the two guards in Pirates of the Caribbean. Particularly if the one on the left is Danny Pudi.

If that's true, then I'm even more excited. The closest we've been to a Trek heist film is the "Stealing the Enterprise" scene in ST III, and that was awesome.
