And the Next Cancelled Show is...

Considering it's on The CW, I wonder if Ackles and Padalecki have the lowest pay raises for any actors who have been on the same network TV show for 10+ seasons when you look at ER, CSI, Law & Order and so forth. Sitcom salaries are a whole different ballpark.

The rumor is that Jensen Ackles gets paid $175,000 per episode and Jared Padalecki gets paid $125,000 per episode. That's a decent level of pay for a show on the CW.

More than a rumor. The list from 2013:

DRAMA (per episode) [*plus profit participation **includes producer fee]
Mark Harmon, NCIS $525,000*
Kevin Spacey, House of Cards $500,000**
Mariska Hargitay, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit $400,000
Simon Baker, The Mentalist $350,000
Patrick Dempsey, Grey's Anatomy $350,000
Ellen Pompeo, Grey's Anatomy $350,000
Jon Hamm, Mad Men $275,000
David Boreanaz, Bones $250,000
Emily Deschanel, Bones $250,000
Claire Danes, Homeland $250,000
Ted Danson, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation $250,000
Michael Weatherly, NCIS $250,000
Angie Harmon, Rizzoli & Isles $185,000
Jensen Ackles, Supernatural $175,000
Shemar Moore, Criminal Minds $175,000
Katherine Heigl, State of Affairs $150,000**

So, Ackles is the highest paid CW actor and receives the identical salary to Shemar Moore from Criminal Minds, a series that premiered the same year as Supernatural. Plus, this is his salary for the contract that expired at the end of season ten. We can assume it's much higher now.

I think he and Padalecki's salary subtracts from the budget for the show's actual production. They had to eliminate the entire second unit for the show a couple of contract negotiations ago, so location shooting is now limited and the filming schedule has been super-compressed.

I wonder if the mysteries of Laura will be next? It is just so bad I wonder how it made it to air.

UGH!!!!!!!!!!! I managed 3 episodes before tuning out.

Still sad Defiance got cancelled. 3 seasons was good though.

OH the crap remake of The Tomorrow People.

What in the world were they thinking when they made this show?

Vikings is such a supremely awesome show. Ragnar's apparent descent into drug-addled derangement, coupled with his angst over getting old, is quite amazing to watch. Lagertha always continues to impress as well, and I have a new-found respect for Bjorn - his efficient handling of the Berzerker was visceral and extremely enthralling to watch. Love it all!

Can we wait for others to comment in between links please :) Not a news feed.

But if the news keeps coming...?

What would happen if it was reported some horrible show got renewed / cancelled and no one wanted to talk about it? Would the topic just close?

Micheal Weatherly is departing at the end of this season so I'm not sure how much more interesting it's going to be.
Heard about this elsewhere last week, and while sad for me, NCIS has survived losing major characters (Kate, Jenny Shepard, Mike Franks & Ziva), and Law and Order survived many cast turnarounds over its twenty seasons!

Wonder how David McCallum feels about this, I remember reading he was a bit pissed when Cote De Pablo left a few years back!

that might have had more to do with the reason she left (last time I looked hadn't been revealed).
