Well the amended claim finally officially answers one question Myself, @Michael Hinman, and few others were debating about this past summer. If Paramount has Star Trek ownership rights or is just a license holder. Turns out they not a license holder and do have own the official film rights to Star Trek, While CBS owns the TV rights. Since the split in 2006 this has never been officially clarified until now.

Still, this summer I was right (see my old posts) about them launching a series in 2017, and also that contractually CBS had to wait until after the 3rd film (STB) is released before CBS can launch a new series. Les Moonves recently stated this was case last week, confirming that.

Odd that he would say that, considering that the ACTUAL owners are paying him millions to make their movie, and he is benefiting quite directly from their legal ownership, and by extension, their enforcement.

I'm pretty sure he only read the title of that article.
I don't think he read what some of those "fans" were saying about him and the movie he's working on...
I do wonder however if Axanar is now gonna brag they have the support of a Bad Robot collaborator.
If that's the case then that's pretty irresponsible tweeting, particularly for a guy who works for Paramount-- to be so publicly criticizing them just a couple of months before his movie releases, regarding a matter he knows little about.
I have to imagine someone from Paramount is going to talk to him. His tweet opens him up for questioning during the press rounds in the run-up to Beyond.
The last thing Paramount wants is this becoming a legit topic during promotion of the movie.
Do you think he realizes in the US, the word is a slur?
Would not be the first or last time a director or actor has said something stupid and got their phone ringing off the hook.

I wonder if the Smithsonian has a Deed of Gift on record for the starship Enterprise? Deeds of Gift to the SI typically require the relinquishing of copyright rights.
