The Expanse digital premiere is available NOW!

Back to being slow again though this time it held my attention unlike the first two episodes which I kept falling asleep while watching. Am I the only one who can't stand Miller's hair? I want to rip off that long messy part of it.

From what I remember of the book and with only four episodes of the show left - now we're en-route to Tycho, it's pretty much constant story development.

6 - Tycho Station, refit of the Rocinante, Miller heads to Eros - possible cliffhanger, the reveal of Julie's body in the bathroom.

7 - Holden and the Rocinante arrive on Eros and the escape of the protomolecule. I'm imagining the cliffhanger here will be them having to fight their way back to the Roci and being exposed to the radiation.

8 - Thoth Station assault - cliffhanger as the reveal of what the villains are up to

9 - The plan to assault Eros and the base warping space as the closing moment.

10 - Plan to blow up Eros continues.

I'm thoroughly enjoying the show, but, and I'm sorry to harp on it, the zero-G scenes still bug me. In ep 5, we see the gang on the drifting Tachi reclining in chairs in supposed zero-G (you can then hear the mag boots click when they leap to their feet); People climbing ladders in supposed zero-G (click, click, click), and one fella expecting to make coffee in a normal earth-style coffee maker that pours it into an open cup. They were not under thrust at these times. Even though I'm enjoying the story, I just have to yell at the screen at those moments.

Managed to catch episode 5 late. Utterly fantastic. Looks like this series will be the one to compare all others to.

Does this help?

Their budget is finite. They've already done more Zero-G work that any other TV show I can remember. (maybe combined?) They are saving it for important scenes. I won't hold this against them.

My only major 'huh' moment was the set design for the kitchen. The circular planter. Man, those plants are sturdy for handling max burn upside down. :p

This one was bit slower, but I still enjoyed it. We didn't get a ton of movement on the now Rocinante crew, but we did get some nice concrete details about what is going on with Julie Mao. Do the flashback to Anderson Station play a role in the present day story, or was that purely backstory for Johnson? I'm assuming that came from the short story The Butcher of Anderson Station? I wonder if stuff from the other short stories will be incorporated into the show.

Thank you Corran.

Well I was a little confused a few times during the last episode as to who we were watching and what was going on but that was my general blurriness not the show. I like the world building very much. I like the afrikaans-esque accents and words, I think they do well making it sound like an organically developed pidgin and it highlights how these folk have a culture and identity quite distinct from earth.

How many generations have they been in the belt?

The Epstein drive, which gave humanity access to the Belt and outer planets, is about 150 years old. I don't remember if an exact length of time for Belt colonization is ever given.

That's also from the book as I have ready access to it - I don't remember if the text at the start of the pilot gives anything different/new.

I'm going to not read the book at this point, I noticed I enjoyed GoT ten x more once some of the storylines veered from the books. I want to be surprised.

Miller is an okay character but I feel like he needs a bit more oomph. He is a little too Dixon Hill for me, I want him to rise above that.

The books are meh novels, not exactly ground breaking scifi books. There are good moments in the books but at times they are boring reads. Some good scenes in the tv show but I'm not happy with the cast, the 'Punisher' actor playing Miller is great and the actors around him are good. The show has some nice ships and nice fx but something is not right with the series, I feel the Punisher is carrying the show for now. Really stupid idea killing the Lopez/Kelly character, it could have helped the show rise above the books.

In Ep4 it was mentioned that Mars and Earth have had their boot on the throat of the Belters for a 100 years (iirc).

No, it'd be really stupid to leave him alive and basically destroy the entire plot. How are Holden and the crew supposed to gain control of the Tachi with a Martian Officer on the ship?

Not to mention that with Lopez alive they'd have no reason to accept Fred's offer. They'd just fly back to Mars and Lopez would corroborate their story.

"Quick...I need a name."

"Rosinante. It means wor--"

"--Workhorse! I knew a lady with that name. She was good to me."

"Warp particles!"
