Spoilers The Flash - Season 2

Yeah, the magnetic bomb solution made no sense at all! I am not nearly as scientifically knowledgeable as you are but I was thinking WTF! the whole time. Right when Wells started to explain it. I am usually very forgiving on made up science in superhero stories. But that was beneath the type of stuff you saw in the Super Friends. Any Grade School kid would have questioned that.

Somethings I liked. Shirley Walker's original Trickster theme was played even closer, bolder sounding, to how it did on the 1990 series than the last episode. Also that the Trickster demented view that he will be seen as a hero for rescuing Central City from the Flash was his prime motivation back than.

Wally West really looks like he is related to Joe and Iris. No I am not just talking skin color. His facial features are very similar to them.

Its not uncommon to call male family friends "Uncle". I wonder if at some point later on Wally will call him "Uncle Barry".

Another great episode. The resolution was a bit stupid, but Trickster is still awesome and the West family drama was actually interesting. I hope we get another Trickster episode next season, Mark Hamil just hits it out of the park every time.

I am fairly certain we will not see the Trickster again until next season. I suspect the timing of this episode was because come January Mark Hamill will be very busy filming another project. ;)

I know, that's why I said I hope we get another Trickster episode next season. I don't know when Flash films compared to Episode VIII, but I'm just hoping Hamil can fit in an episode of Flash Season 3 next year.

Anyone notice that Trickster's elves were wearing the same elf costumes as the ones from A Christmas Story?

Except that Barry is Joe's adopted son, so they're essentially brothers. (Which means that Barry is in love with his sister, in a sense. Which seems to be a superhero thing, because it's similar to the relationship between Steve Austin and Jaime Sommers in the bionic shows. Except in that case, she was the one who was adopted by his parents, and that wasn't until after their high-school sweetheart phase.)

I do agree with the complaints from earlier in the thread. The whole magnetic bomb thing was kind of stupid, and Cold's part did seem to be rather pointless. I can understand having him warn Barry, but once they found out about the breakout and saw Trickster's video it was unnecessary.
It was great seeing Mark Hamill back as Trickster, and WW is a good villain too. The big confrontation between Flash and WW was pretty cool. I was disappointed Barry didn't reveal he was Flash while Patty was threating WW. I was really hoping he was going to pull his mask off as a way to get her to listen to him.
I'm kind of disappointed Harrison is apparently going to be cooperating with Zoom. I was really stay a completely good guy the whole time.
I'm glad they dealt with Wally's existence, and having him show up was a great way to give us

I'm glad Barry didn't reveal himself to Patty right there. Weather Wizard and Trickster are not people you want knowing your secret identity.

Hoping Wells is smart enough to "work for" Zoom just to keep him close enough to learn how to beat him.

Hopefully Trickster is now locked securely with the rest of the metas. I loved all the dredals rolling into the room, very classic Flash trap there. The WW though was a bit meh, he needs more.
I thought for sure Harry was going to inject his daughter with the speed formula while they were hugging. Maybe next time.

Agreed, showing those two villains is different than Snart.

Also I prefer Patty listening to reason instead of being shocked out of murder by her boyfriend revealing to be a superhero.

I doubt Barry and Wally will see it that way at all. They were not raised together. I suspect there will be some resentment that Barry got the childhood and relationship with Joe that Wally could of had.

I am curious what their actual personal relationship will be. The age gap is not that big. If Wally does get Speed powers, Barry would still be a mentor to him.

I was thinking the writers might find a way to have Wally call him "Uncle Barry" as a reference to their comic book relationship. Perhaps a one time defensive tease when Barry is trying to teach him his powers.

Well, the point was clearly to put him on a trajectory toward Legends of Tomorrow. But something that's part of one story should serve a purpose within that story, rather than purely being there to set up some later story.

The setting was a bit public for that, what with all the useless cops hovering around in the background. Cops wear bodycams now.

Yeah, I'm not sure how relevant that revelation would've been in that particular situation. It's not like the Flash was the one she was trying to kill. At most, it might've given Patty more reason to listen to him and trust him, but as we saw earlier, she kinda trusts the Flash more than Barry, or at least feels freer to talk to him. So staying in the Flash persona was probably the right call there.

What, and brothers never resent each other? Cf. Loki and Thor.

Maybe he *did*? I don't know - I wasn't watching that part that closely. But if they didn't show his hands the whole time...

In a show that has such remarkable villains like Wells and Zoom how can anyone approve villains on the "Batman and Robin" level of bad camp?

I absolutely hate Snart/Captain Cold and Trickster.. the first because the actor is just downright awful and the second.. well, a paycheck is a paycheck even for such a Science Fiction legend like Hamill.

It nearly ruined the entire episode (well, the scenes they appeared in were ruined), their plot made actually no sense logically and scientifically (why is one bomb dragging all the others with it? WTF?) but all the other elements of the episode fortunately more then made up for it.

I'm still a bit miffed why the producers once again keep a character in the dark abiut Barrys identity and i felt it would have been a perfect moment for Barry to unmask himself to bring back Patty from the brink but i guess the writers have planned something else (my second choice would be that patty already knows and has deduced it on her own, that would be a nice twist).

So they are introducing another future speedster.. i can't wait for the moneyshot where every speedster on the show has their speed and is running alongside the others to take down Zoom together :techman:;)

Hey, yeah, I just realized -- Barry, Jay, Wally, and Jesse all appear in this episode, along with Zoom, of course. That's pretty much all of them. And even Reverse Flash was present in spirit, in a sense.

Yep. Now we just need Max Mercury and Bart Allen, right? Or am I missing someone?

well, Johnny Quick. All Star Squad Johnny Quick. not Crime Syndicate Johnny Quick. and maybe XS.

That wasn't my quote...
It is NOW - just more wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff, I guess. ;)

You're right. It was Icemizer's. No idea how that even happened, since my post wasn't a multi-quote or even a layered quote of anything. But I've fixed it in all of my posts now, so if you fix the quote in yours, it'll all be squared. :techman:
