Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

I just picked up the Armored Voyager from my local shop. It's nice, I like the size. It's one of those odd-ball designs that I never thought would see the light of day as a physical model, so it's nice to have on that alone. The size is what has prevented me from getting some of the other models. I realized yesterday that I'm more interested in Federation Starships so I'm going to focus on getting those and wait on the alien ships. The Steamrunner and Sabre look awesome, I look forward to seeing them in the States.

Don't forget the Centaur! .

I think I'm going to skip that one. At $25 ($30 or so when ordering online) a pop these things really start to add up for me so I need to be frugal and get only the ones I really want. :)

Small update - everyone (in the US) should make sure their accounts are correctly set up. I asked a follow-up question about the re-shipping of my September ships and if it was going to be combined with the October ships, which should be getting charged about now. They told me the following:
I have reviewed your account and I am not showing a next shipment date. This could be because the wrong payment information is in the system or it is PayPal information, which we are unable to process at the US branch. If you can call in to the number below, we will be happy to make sure that you payment information is correct.

800-261-6898
So I called in, all the information is correct (not using PayPal) and they have no clue why there is no "next shipment date" (meaning October). Their branch manager is reviewing my case to fix it. Everyone should be checking their credit card statements to see if they're getting charged for the October ships. The last charge (at least for me) was September 3 and it is now October 6 and I've seen nothing. This is starting to become more than just a minor screw-up.

I just called the new US CS branch too, and basically got the same info as the above email statements say. In that during the transfer process between the UK branch and the US branch some or maybe even all US accounts got screwed up in terms of billing and ship dates. I was told by the nice lady that they'll reship the Sept. releases, and set up a new ship date for me for future releases. So what's the next Special Issue? The Kelvin?

So I got a response:

We do apologize about the missing shipment. The transfer of US accounts from our UK branch has resulted in some lost and delayed shipments for some of our members. I have submitted a request for the package to be reshipped. We do thank you for your patience and understanding.

Yep - pretty much what I got. This seems to have been a big deal for them so, hopefully, once they get all this straightened out, things will get permanently settled down from now on. Of course, it had to happen just in time for the damn Centaur shipment! -- grumble --

Same for me too. Customer service reshipped me 49, 50, 51, and 52 together in one box. I've not been charged for October yet (53 and 54), so will keep your advice in mind about the screwed up accounts. I think mine might be one of those too. I'll give it a week and then call them.

I also got a card through the mail about the DS9 special. That must have been a costly mistake if they charged and then reversed all those charges, AND mailed out new cards to everyone who already had DS9 about the "upcoming" DS9 special.

Looks like I'm not the only one with problems then - ordered the Enterprise-C, Centaur and Appalachia through the store. Recieved three seperate deliveries, with the C... and two Pasteurs (!). While I like the Pasteur, I do not need three of them... :S Let's hope customer support gets back to me soon and that it's a temporary hickup - all my previous orders went through OK.

So I called USCS and told them I did not receive my September shipment of issues 51 & 52 and I was informed that they will be re-shipped to me immediately. I asked if there was anything else about my subscription I should know and was told that the PayPal system has not yet completely been transferred. Due to that, until it is completely transferred I might not receive my ships. I was given an approximate time-frame of "a few months."

It would help my bank account to have a break until 2016, but who knows what else can happen regarding my regular ships and the Kelvin special over that 3 month vacation. I'm thinking I'll call again tomorrow and see about changing away from my PayPal and going straight off my debit card. Both take funds from the same account, but PayPal gives me that extra layer of security.

They really need to send out an announcement and explain this all to people. And, frankly, apologize to boot.

^^ Agreed. This is more than a simple one-time glitch. For it to effect everyone's subscriptions so drastically, something should definitely be done.

Are people outside the US experiencing these problems? Australia? Canada? Europe? Japan? Just curious if they've decentralized all their operations away from the UK.

I'm still waiting for the maquis fighter(issue 28)and the valdore(issue 21) her in Australia, been waiting almost 5 months now, thinking of cancelling the orders and get the models form eaglemoss Australia site and my favourite pop culture online store.

Finally got the Hirogen and the Centaur yesterday. VERY nice ships. Now all they need to do is get the October charge/ships back up to speed and we'll be back on track.

The Centaur mag has fantastic pics of the original model, angles I've never seen before, and the story about its existence from its creator, Adam Buckner, and that there is a second one out there, apparently in Spain! One of the best so far, IMO...

I just got the Centaur today too! It's a terrific ship, if a bit front-heavy. I'm also terrified of one of those long, super-thin nacelles brushing against something and snapping off.

It looks wonderful though, especially from the underside (we never really see the topside).

I don't really buy the mag's suggestion that it was cobbled together from existing parts during the war, given it's low registry number, but it's nice to see it get some recognition nonetheless.

Also, that kid in Spain is presumably all grown up now. I wonder if he knows about this and still has his version.

I'm already guessing that I'm going to have to e-mail them about the October ships, because it's Oct 10 and I've not been charged - and I'm usually charged by the 4th. Sigh.

I want one thing answered: WHY DID THEY DECIDE TO SWITCH THINGS NOW?! Stuff was working 90% for ppl; why muck it up?

Australia has always been run by bissett mags I've had a hit and miss kind of relationship with them but their customer service is always on point for me. Do any of the aussie subscribers know when we are supposed to be getting the vengeance special?

Hope their US operation gets sorted real quick, not a good situation. Feel for the subscribers.

Also someone who spoke to Ben at a convention in new york said that the collection has been extended beyond 90!

I wonder if this had anything to do with the change in European law concerning secure information being sent between the US (which has far looser rules concerning privacy of information, versus Europe, where that right is far more protected). Ben on twitter mentioned, "Data protection making life very difficult'.

The change in law came out after a person sued over the fact that his transactions could be intercepted by the US government from their data tracking.

Then they should say so!

If this is because of politics and governments and laws, then they should let it be known so there company doesn't look bad, you know? lol.

In case anyone doesn't read deep into the Facebook page, someone who attended NYCC who spoke to Ben said that apparently, the collection IS going past 90 issues.

So, let me say that in bold capitals:

THE COLLECTION IS GOING PAST 90 ISSUES!!!

w00t! :techman::techman::techman::techman::techman::techman::techman::techman::techman:

I'm going to be poor forever. :(

And you're thrilled about it, I know!! ;)

Now if only Ben would answer me on Twitter about the 3 ships I most want that are outstanding: Daedalus, Borg Queen Throne Ship, and the Scimitar.
