Rogue One (2016) [SW Anthology Series)

For anybody else who, like me, has never seen the Red Leader scene being discussed it is included in this collection of ANH deleted scenes. It starts at about 15:40

Sorry but that guy loses all credibility by wearing that shirt with the munted looking Chewbacca from ROTS. It NEVER ceases to amaze me how they spend HUNDREDS of millions of dollars on these films and yet they made Chewbacca look SO different from the way he looks in ANH. He has these black marks under his eyes that just drive me mad.

I was VERY pleased to see in the preview for TFA, he looks pretty much like the old Chewie from the OT.

Prequel cooties INDEED!!!!!

Why would someone lose credibility for wearing a prequel based shirt when talking about the original trilogy? The guy likes what he likes, and it's all Star Wars, so....why the loss of credibility?

That'd be like someone saying to me: "You lost all credibility talking about Star Trek because you're wearing a JJ Trek shirt!" or "You lose all credibility takling about Classic Galactica when you're wearing a 'So Say We All' t-shirt!" To which my reply would probably be: "That's ok, I don't think much of you either."

See what I mean?

The oddity of it is, the Chewie is from the prequels but the words....are from the Holiday Special.

Lol, just read through the last 2-3 pages of this thread, with people arguing about how Vader found out about Luke, apparently oblivious to the fact that it's all spelled out as clear as day in the new canon Star Wars and Darth Vader comics from Marvel.

And by the way, if you're not reading them, the Darth Vader comic is one of the best comics being published today by any company (assuming you're already a Vader/Star Wars fan I suppose). (And if you're in this thread, you probably are.)

And with regards to the question of gender equality in SW from a few days ago, the SW comics have been pretty decent in that regard. Aphra is my favorite new character, and the Princess Leia series this year was about 99% female. (Which of course only evens out with the comics that will be 99% male, but there you go.)

You're right, I did not know that.

But, I wouldn't say that anyone was arguing about what happened. None of us said that we knew, just that there were various ways that it could have easily happened.

But, yeah, I'm behind on the comics.

Sure, sure, just speculating, and it's always fun to speculate. Especially here on the speculative fiction board.

To inform folks on this board in general:
The new comics are all in the same canon continuity, but the Star Wars and Darth Vader series are telling 2 parts of the same story. The Leia and Kanan and Lando series seem to be telling stories that aren't directly connected to the "main story" being told in Darth Vader and Star Wars.

I've not checked out the comics yet, but I'll get to them eventually. Maybe. Possibly. Probably not. I have however just got done reading 'Dark Disciple'...and now I feel sad. :(

Maybe I should give Dark Disciple a try after all. I had been shying away because I'm not a big fan of Christie Golden and her other Star Wars books were pretty bad, but it's sounding like this one might be good.

^I'm not hugely familiar with Christie Golden's work, but it probably helps that it's based directly on the Katie Lucas's teleplays. I gather most of it is pretty much a verbatim adaptation.

I was not a fan of Chrstie Golden's previous Star Wars books either but I liked Dark Disciple. She was just novelizing a pre-existing story this time.

I wonder what kinds of droids we'll get out of this film. Aside from the usual background Imperial droids and Rebel astromechs for any X-wings or Y-wings that might be involved that is.

I don't really want a lot of droids. One of my little issues with the prequels, was the HUGE amount of droids. Probably because they could be killed easily without it looking to gruesome. But it just became to much.
