Nerdgasm: Level 100.
The more I see of John Boyega the more I love the guy. He's basically one of us, just lucky enough to be cast as a major character in Star Wars films. 
Down to earth, loves the fans and conventions and toys and collectibles, funny and just plain nice.

Just watching the panel and have seen the first question by an audience member dressed in a bad Batman costume and doing his Christian Bale.. i cringed so hard i nearly broke something in my body

Abrams's hairline is receding. If it continues much more, people are going to start confusing him with Jason Alexander.
I'm a woman in my 20s and I also think "FUCK CGI" so... not sure what your point is, specifically in regards to why you even mention gender.

One of the benefits of actually not going to Comic Con, but man it would be nice to go to a convention sometime. I'm sure most fans there were just plain excited to see something new.
I have to say, I noticed the cheers for the practical effects, and even as a 24 year old male I completely agreed. Regardless of age or gender, I think some people are just sick of CG used for everything, and are excited to see so much practical stuff in the new SW movie.
CGI has its place and can look mesmerizing - to a point. What's the quickest and most convenient method for some filmmakers isn't always the most fun or believable imagery for many in the audience to watch.
Abrams should be applauded for his heavy employment of traditional and practical sets and special effects technology no matter how the actual film itself is received. It's nice to once again see the Star Wars universe look tactile and grimy - as it should.

So I am in the lounge at Abu Dhabi Airport, waiting for my flight to Chicago, and on every monitor they are running the trailer and clip of Harrison Ford at the Panel discussion. Guess they do have NerdGasms here, also. Very cool and not something I expected!. 
That is something that I'm really liking about everything I'm seeing so far. This feels like going home again.
