The Doctor’s multiple talents

Kilana2

Vice Admiral

Not only was the Doctor the Emergency Medical Hologram (also seen in First Contact). He became a talented singer (mostly opera, his La Donna e mobile is unforgettable). He was a creator of holo novels and his own holographic family. He claimed to have a sex life (although hux would say, that we haven’t seen enough of it). He gave Seven more or less successfully social lessons. He enforced his status as Emergency Command Hologram and took a liking to holo photography….

His holo emitter gave him more freedom. He wasn’t stuck in just one place, so we could see the Doctor outside sickbay and even as part of an away mission.

Which talent is the most valuable/interesting and which talent would you like to be removed from his matrix by B’Elanna or Reg Barclay?

He was also an artist and a pianist.

Most valuable is definitely being the EMH. Most interesting (for me) was that he could sing and enjoyed opera.

As I said, La Donna e Mobile was a Voyager highlight. Tuvok suffered from Pon Farr and the Doctor controlled the situation in a virtuoso manner. :vulcan: :techman:

Not a talent but I always liked that he was constantly reading up on human customs and history, in order to feel more human. I think he was successful. There were times when I forgot he was a hologram.

You can conclude from my posts here that I'm a fan of the Doctor. Not only the Doctor, but also Data and Vic Fontaine. So I'm a bit disappointed about the recent novels where AI's are mentioned, but it's mostly due to a boring story than the AI's fault.....

Even though Janeway is my #1 favourite character, the Doctor is the best thing about Voyager!

I couldn't get into the relaunch novels.

When I saw Picardo at a convention he came out on stage, put down a boom box, pressed play and sang this song to the audience. IT WAS INCREDIBLE.

I could only afford one picture and went with Picardo over Ryan (choosing to stand next to a bald man rather than a stunningly beautiful woman just goes to show how much I love that character). He is the star of Voyager.

As for the doctor's skills; I always enjoyed his ability to question Janeway's decisions more forthrightly than anyone else in the crew (including those whose job it was) and his comedic timing.

The doctor having sex needed to be explore more purely for holographic reasons. Did he have a holo-penis permanently projected underneath his holo-clothing or did he say "computer, attach penis" just before sex? I need to know!

Same thing with Data. How does he look like nude? I guess, Tasha Yar knows, unfortunately she's quite dead. ;)

If only. Tasha Yar had more lives than doctor who.

I'm sure Data's technique was adequate though. Like a traction engine.

Right, I forgot. There are all the parallel universes/alternative timelines..... In one of them there is Data with Lal and Tasha as stepmother....

Regarding Data's techniques..... The Borg Queen was delighted..... :borg:

That is beyond cool!! Lucky you:)

I'm just trying and failing to picture myself in the Doctor's interactive `Photons be free´story as EMH being treated condescendingly by everyone else.

No love for his part-time job as Emergency Command Hologram?

ECH? Of course. I prefer the German abbrevation KNH (Kommando Notfall Hologramm). The Doctor buckled down to get this job. Obviously he wants his own command one day.

One of the funniest episodes was when he met another EMH - this blond dude - and they fought against the Romulans. Hilarious. When the didn't know which buttons to push.....

The doctor's encounter with that blonde dude is the reason I'm curious about how he utilise his holo-penis

EMH: I'm as close to a sentient life form as any hologram could hope to be. I socialise with the crew, fraternise with aliens. I've even had sexual relations.
EMH2: Sex? How's that possible? We're not equipped
EMH: Let's just say, I made an addition to my programme.
EMH2: Before you leave, maybe you could download those subroutines into my database.
