You think Rodney would have killed an episode? I swear, the man gets no respect.

He could've substantially improved on Schmitter for the DAY OF THE DARK teaser.

He would have fit right in on Lost In Space as one of Irwin Allen's bug-eyed monsters.

I can picture Rodney tossing one-liners and doing the collar tug just before being sizzled.![]()
First of all, Zasu died three years before Trek hit the airwaves, so it could never have happened.Yeah, I guessed as much. Some folks just seem to be pulling names out of a hat where you want to be obscure but not too obscure. Here's one, ZaSu Pitts.![]()
Dezi Arnez as Bele.
Trelane.I know Liberace parodied himself in Batman, but in ST....sorry I just can't see him in any episode.![]()
Nancy Kulp as Helen Noel.
And speaking of GILLIGAN'S ISLAND, I read recently that Dawn Wells auditioned for the part of Robert Lincoln in "Assignment: Earth," while Russell Johson tried out for the part of Marvick in "Is There in Truth No Beauty?"
I could see either of those working.

Interesting...could it be that they didn't get the parts because they were typecast? That would be a laugh, considering the show they were auditioning for...!

Dawn Wells would have been fantastic as Roberta. Her talent was never fully showcased on Gilligan's Island, but you can get a sense of what kind of actor she was in the episodes where she got something good to do. Like in the "Dr. Jekyll" dream sequence when she played Eliza Doolittle, she nailed the accent and the character. She really belonged in the movies. In a tear-jerker she would have ripped your heart out.
