I am listening to The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson, narrated by Bernadette Dunne. I really loved Jackson's We Have Always Lived in the Castle so I thought I would like HoHH but with only 90 minutes to go I am so far disappointed. I am finding the story boring, and I dislike all the characters. The only saving grace is it is well narrated by Bernadette Dunne.

Last night I started listening to The Kraken Project by Douglas Preston, narrated by Scott Sowers. It is the 4th book in the Wyman Ford series.
Almost finished reading the previously mentioned Reykjavik Nights and once I finish it I will probably choose a non-fiction book as my next e-book read.
I also need to select a new paperback book to read.

Besides stuff for school I'm starting on The Silmarillion.
For my e-book read I selected Pudding: A Global History by Jeri Quinzio. It it is in the same series as the book I recently read about apples. The last few pages I have read have been about blood puddings and haggis, neither of which appeal to me. I want to get onto the yummy sweet puddings.
I took a break from Building Harlequin's Moon to read an EC Tubb anthology.
Just started Red Seas Under Red Skies by Scott Lynch. It's the second book in the Gentleman Bastards series.
I finished Cold Days a few days ago - I found it satisfying. (I don't read the Dresden Files books for anything beyond that - if I'm entertained, and want to read the next one, then I'm happy.) I've moved on to The Long War by Terry Pratchett and Stephen Baxter, the sequel to The Long Earth. As I thought at the time, the plot appears to be kicking in now that the universe and characters have been established. I'm not far into it yet (maybe 60 pages), but it's shaping up to be an interesting book.

A lack of interest in the plots and a strong dislike of the characters Harry and Murphy. I forced myself to finish the first one, but when I saw no improvement in the second book I decided to bail on the series.

At the moment I am listening to Meltwater by Michael Ridpath, narrated by Sean Barrett. It is another murder mystery set in Iceland in which a member of the activist group FreeFlow is murdered. FreeFlow is a Wikileaks like group.
My paperback read is Secret Tasmania by Philip and Mary Blake. 77 short stories about quirky places/events in Tasmania.
