ENTER! TV & Media Avatar Contest: Turning 30!

Hello there,

well, I was trying to think of something clever for the new theme, when I noticed that I'm only two weeks away from turning 30. I hate time.

Anyway, I realized that, in the year of my birth, there were some memorable examples of movie, TV shows, literature and comics. So I decided to make this contest all about me and my birth-year.

Allowed are any movies, TV shows, book covers and comic art from 1984! Yes, SF/F is allowed. All other usual rules apply.

So go on and show me how old I am!

Here's my entry, the debut of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles:

I realize this is probably nowhere near the most popular of all the movies that came out in 1984. But I also realized that I don't care, and I'm entering it anyway! :p

Oh, and happy (early) birthday! :)

- Going with my top Monty Python movie, instead of Return of the Jedi.

Good one.

Thanks! I was surprised that move was still available, but what do I know. The Ghostbusters entry reminds me of the "Coming to save the world..." ads, where at first they didn't even mention the name of the movie or even that it was a movie. That was a good campaign.

I don't get it.

Well, you'd have to have seen the movie. I don't like explaining entries, I figure the image should speak for itself and if people need it explained they wouldn't vote for it anyway.

Threads, BTW, that's heavy. I tried not to think about that movie for a long time.
