Technical Manuals

Jackill's revised V1 and some blueprints are available on his site. You probably won't be able to find much of the old FASA stuff, except on eBay, and I can promise you it will be expensive. Fortunately, almost all of their ships are available here.
 
Any time. :) I actually like a lot of FASA's efforts, even though they weren't perfect. I think they did a fairly reasonable attempt at fleshing out the Klingon and Romulan fleets, and I much prefer their handling of the Bird of Prey design. They kept the scaling problems with the model away, and they explained the origin of the ship which is still somewhat unclear - it's always been used by the Klingons, but since it evolved from a planned Romulan ship, some fans naturally wonder where the design came from. FASA explained that.

It's worth noting that most of the graphics that appear on the Tactical Simulator have been redrawn, and are not necessarily true to the originals. That's because of FASA's bad kitbashing in a lot of cases, but you can see the original artwork at the Ship Schematic page.
 
I'm touched that the Starship Registry Data base instruction manual that I wrote up for the old dos based database program is included in that listing. Never considered it a Technical Manual So to speak.

137th Gebirg, perhaps sometime you could update the Ship Schematics site to actually list which books include which ships? I mean, you can see that in the individual entries, but that's a lot of ships to go through.
 
Wow... thanks for that link! I really enjoyed seeing some of the old FASA TNG-era designs again... I must be in the extreme minority that actually really liked them. I used to have the FASA TNG season one sourcebook, and I all of my favorite designs are on this site:

- Decker
- M'Benga
- Moscow
- Royal Sovereign
- Wellington

Come to think of it, that might not be too hard to do. I already provide a bibliographical link for ships to show which book they came from. I suppose I could conceivably go in the opposite direction and show all the books and their corresponding designs. Good suggestion. I'll have to think on that one...
 
It would be appreciated, if it's feasible. :) You have a very good site, and I just think the bibliography would be far more useful if you can add a list for the respective books, since it's a lot of ships. I like a lot of the ships designed by Jackill and others, and it would be nice to be able to see a list of the classes in his original editions.
 
Anyone here ever seen the "Galileo Class Ships Operation and Requirements Manual"?

I thought it was done in an interesting manner, and I liked the detail it went into concerning crew composition and the like.

My only complaint was the lack of illustration of the ship itself, other than the one side-view (and a somewhat tiny one) near the front of the book.

Opinions anyone?

Also a big fan of the USS Khai Tam Technical Orientation Manual. A very interesting design, and some nice details throughout the book.
 
Yes I have two copies and like you I thought it could have used more pictures of the ship. They did advertise in the book that they would be releasing Schematics of the ship. Does any one know if they ever did? The Khai Tam is on my Wish list to be purchased or Traded for :D

I originally posted both the "List of Technical Manuals" and a "List of Blueprints" on Wikipedia. Both were put up for deletion and only the "List of Technical Manuals" survived. I also posted the lists on Memory-Alpha and after a little bit of contoversy/discussion since it was not considered canon they eventually combined the files on Fan_Publications , just scroll down past the parody part at the beginning to see some of the Blueprints that are out there. I created these lists based on the Star Trek items that I have collected over the years, hopefully it will help collectors to see what has been produced over the years. I hope that people will help fill in the blanks for the Manuals/Blueprints that I have missed.

It's over at the Starship Schematics Database, the URL of which eludes me at the moment.
 
The Galileo Class that Paul Hollingsworth used in his book was based on a side view that I sent him. Here are copies of the files that I sent him years ago I hope this helps. This is the file with 2 engines 2 Nacelle and this is the file with 3 engines 3 Nacelle
