Is there a mirror of the original encodings? I found one only for The Savage Empire (here). The originals were bad enough, I'd love it if I could get something that hasn't been reencoded further degrading the quality...

I really hope they end it on a cliffhanger. Just to fuck with people.

Well, if they never finish it, you pretty much get your wish.

People who donated $$$$ to the second production received "The Making of..." and "The Savage Empire" on a DVD. Pristine!

So guess Exeter is pretty much dead in the water? What a shame. Wish they had finished "Tressaurian".

How many of us even remember what happened in the existing parts?

In defense of the Exeter folks, I can understand how this may have happened. Editing a film in post production takes a tremendous amount of patience, focus and concentration. For a fan film, where people have full time jobs, and there's no release date, and no pressure from investors, time can easily slip away. Weeks become months, and months become years.

I'm guessing they're not happy with the product. That's just my guess. If I'm correct, they may want to consider handing the raw footage over to someone else who can take a fresh look at it. Perhaps there's a skilled editor who is also a Trek fan and willing to do it for free.

    Just a thought.

I think that's actually what happened and what is happening.

That is exactly what's happened. The editor in question is currently busy working on Polaris. I would imagine he'll get back to Exeter eventually.

Why does an entire film get precedent over a final act that people have been waiting ***years*** to see? Editing Polaris will take years as well, so won't that push the final act of Tressaurian that much further back? Will we even see it before the end of this decade, if at all?

I've gotten tired of explaining this, so it'll be the last time.

Exeter is a side project for me. I've worked on it between other commitments (Polaris, the music videos I do for the Kinsey Sicks, etc). Act Four wasn't working as edited (due to material from Act Four being used in Act Three, thus borrowing from Peter to Pay Paul), so I started over and decided to cut it from scratch. When it's done I'll explain in detail the challenges of doing this and why it was difficult, but to say so now would give away climactic plot points.

Pretty much because those of us who actually work on these movies for free feel like it.

There are better, more nuanced answers as well of course...but that particular question phrased in that way didn't deserve one of them IMAO.

Oh ok, you got me Keyboard Kommando. I'm mortally wounded.

Anyhoo, I got an answer. Don't really care how you chose to phrase your little rant. Good luck with your constipation, dude.
