More televised music from the Proms. Tonight it's Schoenberg's orchestral arrangement of Brahms's Piano Quartet no. 1 in G minor.

One of the saddest, most emotional songs I've heard in a very long time, Reba McEntire's For My Broken Heart.

Even as someone who listens to contemporary Christian, I'm not often impressed by the musical composition and arrangements (my other musical tastes--generally classical, metal, or proggish, make me hard to impress)...but on this one, I truly was. It was easy to imagine how a live performance of this would work, in a large sanctuary...

Giovanni Dettori's "Lady Gaga Fugue" in D Minor as performed by Dejan Lazic at the Proms (that same pianist who adapted Brahms's violin concerto for piano and orchestra):

Was told that her Brit Awards performance was better than her VMA performance, so decided to watch. Very beautiful song.

Now it's Taylor Swift's Sparks Fly

Not sure what it is, but I have a love hate relationship with Swift. On one hand, I'm not sure if she's a good live performer, but on the other, a lot of her songs are catchy, even to the point where I actually bought and Enjoyed "Speak Now". I wonder if being a 27 year old guy qualifies that as a guilty pleasure but oh well.
