Is anyone else playing Prototype 2? It's tons of fun! The story is completely worthless, but the gameplay is extremely fluid and joyous!

After suffering some burnout on MW3, a friend has pointed me in the direction of "Kingdoms of Amalur". I've tried out the demo and am fairly intrigued.... I'm putting serious thought into buying it, though this would be the first time I've paid over $50 for a game and that kinda pisses me off.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (game of the year edition).

I always crank down the graphics to make sure my video card doesn't melt.

I just started a playthrough of Gothic and it is fantastic. I couldn't get into Elder Scrolls or Fallout, so I assumed I just disliked Western RPGs. Gothic proved that theory wrong.

I've been playing Trine for about a week now (like one level per day).

^Trine is fun, but it's one of those games that's much more fun in co-op than single player IMO.

I tried Trine, but I couldn't get into it. I loved The Lost Vikings, but Trine felt more like a sandbox physics simulator than an action/puzzle game.

Yeah, it's pretty easy to get past many obstacles by simply cheesing the physics engine. That's why I like the co-op, for the dumb fun harassing your partner with floating boxes and the like. The Trine games are pretty nice looking, and the characters and plot are funny, so overall I found it pretty enjoyable. Also, my co-op partner and I enjoyed the challenge of finding all the experience points and secrets.

It's no Lara Croft: Guardian of Light, but it's fun.

I'm about 30 hours into Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning (a really awkward title) and it's a great game. I got burnt out playing Skyrim, and Amalur was the perfect game to get me back on my feet. The combat is great, the story is cool, and the world is shiny and nice to look at.

Yeah, I couldn't get into it either. Sandbox games just aren't my thing.

So I picked up Rayman for the PSX a few days ago and I've been playing that. I loved the game back in the day, but now it only serves to destroy childhood memories. Gorgeous graphics do not make up for poor controls and level design. Why did I ever like this game?
