No need to be sorry! I'm close to that point in the game, I'm sure, because things do seem to be swinging that way. I'm just having fun in that setting. They need to make more of these period drama games!

I hate it when great game companies go under. To me, Team Bondi was on top of something great.

Since gettin' my xbox one the other day, I have played Batman: Arkham Knight and Sunset Overdrive.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection has been successfully downloaded, and Destiny & Alien Isolation: Nostromo Edition have been installed, but I haven't started to play any of 'em yet.

Still have Assassin's Creed: Unity left to install, too...

I got ahold of a copy of Deadpool. It's hard to play because I can't stop giggling.

^ I've been looking for a reasonably priced copy myself, but I can't find one.

I got it over at 99Gamers (www.99gamers.com) in exchange for a copy of Ghostbusters. I lucked out because the guy wanted the same amount of coins for it that I wanted for my game, and so we traded.

I had that game for awhile, but got rid of it before I finished it.

My nephew didn't like it much, either.

Started playin' the first Halo from my Halo: The Master Chief Collection download while Assassin's Creed: Unity continues to download. Started it before I left for work this mornin', it was still just at 92% when I got back tonight.

I just finished the Point Lookout DLC for Fallout 3 on PS3. It was fun enough, although it probably could have used a more involved main quest. For $5 I got a bit over 7 hours of playing, which was fine.

My favorite of all the DLC for Fallout 3 was Mothership Zeta. Getting a hold of those alien weapons really came in handy when I went back to the Wasteland. As soon as my character was of sufficient level to play MZ, that's precisely where I'd go. :)

Not to mention it had some really wacky moments. And the little girl, Sally, is just cute as a button. There's even a line borrowed from the movie Twister that Sally says if you go perform a certain task.

I'm usually not much for games like that, but I didn't know who the Deadpool character was, but he looked like a smart arse, so I had to give it a shot. The action is frenetic, and fun. The only problem I have is there really is no mapping system beyond an occasional arrow that points in the general direction of where you need to go. It can get frustrating.

That's the same problem I have with Destiny.... the map system.

You only see the map when you are preparing to undertake a mission or patrol. There are a few travel lines and the names of some of the places on the map, but there is no mini map system once you actually start the mission.... and the only time the waypoints come up is for your next objective, or to indicate where beacons are (if you are playing patrol). There's no "custom waypoint" system, because, well, there is no in-game mini map. You basically have to look at the map at the mission select screen, and hope you've memorized which way you need to go.

I've taken many wrong turns because I thought I was headed in the right direction, only to realize that I didn't take a turn that should've been at least indicated on the pre-select map.

This little quip really only applies to patrols (free-form play), and bounties that may only accomplished via patrols.

A solution would be: If you pick a bounty that says: Hunt (this particular target) near (this particular location) on Mars, then you should be able to select an "active bounty", and there should be a waypoint guiding you at least to the location where such a target would lurk. Not his exact location, but the general location.

Bungie either thought of this, and decided to leave such an option out to annoy the player, or they didn't think of it, which tends to annoy a player anyway.

I'm finding Gears of War 3 may be similar. I just started playing (free game woohoo!), and I'm already getting lost. I empathize.

Yeah....it's really sad when the developers (and some gamers) claim that in-game maps are just handholds for the player.

But hey, even in the real world, the military take maps with them on missions to be consulted on-mission.

Why do devs and gamers think that it's handholding if it's in a game?

Exactly. I'm not a real soldier, I have no idea how to really move about as if I'm involved in tactical action. I need a map!

So do real soldiers, J, so don't feel bad. :) (Having been a soldier, myself, I can attest to the need for maps....GPS or good ol' fashioned printed ones)

Oh, well firstly, thank you for your service.

Secondly, I have the impressive ability to get lost in a straight line. :p

Hmmmm.... I got lost in a straight line once. I had my hat on backwards, and people didn't know if I was coming or going. :D
