Yes it was a shameless quote. You'll have to imagine my blue face and feathery eye brows. I accidentally came across your forum looking for a copy of the blueprints from TOS that I had when I was a kid. For a reason I can't quite explain I've tried recently to replace a lot of the toys and collector's items I had as a kid. I think its because they came from a simpler time. Crazy as this may sound I find myself looking for comfort in my old hero characters occasionally. Especially after the last 18 months of hell we've all been thru. Reality sucks and Kirk and Spock my be melodramatic but they never lied to us and we always knew where they stood.

Sorry, lol that sounded preachy. I didn't mean it to. I'm very pleased to have found you. I look forward to get to know you better.

PS- NCC = Naval Construction Code. It was in one of the books a LONG time ago. I saw that debate in one of the threads but I'm damned if I can find it again, sorry. Had a pretty good laugh about it tho :rommie:

What is it with the influx of newbies all posting greetings threads?

Not in the regular forums, just in the sticky thread under Miscellaneous. In any case, welcome!

Thanks. Perhaps if the rules were more clearly posted we "newbs" could manage to be less irritating.

Many of us welcome new people. Perhaps when a new person creates an account they should be automatically redirected to an Introduction to TrekBBS forum where the RULES are sticky at the top with an Introduce Yourself under it.

This would avoid confusion for 'newbies' and 'aggravation' for old farts.

Apparently Kirizan reprogrammed the simulation to prevent getting his thread locked. He deserves a commendation for original thinking.

Oh, I'm not intending to be mean or anything – I'm just perplexed by the sudden trend of individual welcome threads. Statistical fluke? Grand conspiracy? We may never know.

recent release of the ST09 BluRay/dvd?

no that's stupid - sorry - it's been out some time now. Maybe Sector7's idea is a good one - redirect newbies directly to the newbie thread w/ the FAQs and such.

Jesus guys, welcome the new guy, don't be mean ;)

Welcome, Kirizan to the TrekBBS. I'm sure you'll fit in just fine.

We do have a thread in the Miscellaneous forum for new members to introduce themselves - you can find it here.

Also check out the Red Shirt Lounge. It's a great place to meet other members who joined recently.

Aside from that, feel free to start new threads or post in existing ones and be part of the discussion and our little community. If you have any questions, most posters will be happy to help (especially the moderators and admins in green, orange, and yellow - except for Bonz, she's cranky :p ).
